The World of Outlaws Late Model Series and Trey Mills announced that the young driver from St. Augustine, Florida will compete with the Real American Beer World of Outlaws Late Model Series in 2026.
In a press release shared to Facebook, Mills said, “Running the full World of Outlaws tour has been a dream of mine. We proved this year that we can run with these guys, and now it’s time to take on the whole schedule. I’m excited, I’m humbled, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to compete for Rookie of the Year.”
“We’ve been running really good at all the big races that we went to, so I felt like it was only right to take that next step,” Mills told WorldofOutlaws.com. “I’ve been racing regional Supers for three years now, so I really feel like this next year is the perfect time to take that next step. It’s also going to be my last year racing for my parents, so they’re doing everything they can to get me the exposure that I need. Just trying to get me out on the road so I can show my full talent, my full potential and maybe pick up a ride.”
This past season was his busiest season racing super late models where he competed in the DIRTcar Summer Nationals aka the Hell Tour. He finished fifth on th etour with 1 win, 7 top 5s, and 13 top 10s in 24 feature appearances. His win in the series came at the exciting Macon Speedway, where he outdueled former World of Outlaws champion Brandon Sheppard in a photo finish.
Mills discussed how important competing in the Hell Tour was, “It definitely helped us a ton. I got a lot better as a driver, me and my crew chief, we got our communication better just because we were racing every single night. I feel like it overall benefitted our team drastically.”
“That was one of the main reasons why we ran the Hell Tour, just get me seat time at tracks that I hadn’t been to, because a lot of the Hell Tour tracks are Outlaw tracks as well,” he shared.
Mills plans to take advantage of the various races in the Southeast where he has the most experience to secure the Rookie of the Year title. He’s specifically got Magnolia Speedway circled where he won $20,000 at The Cotton Pickin this year with the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series in September.
“I won the biggest race of my career this year at Magnolia, $20,000, so I’m definitely looking forward to going back to Magnolia,” Mills said. “I always run good at Senoia [Raceway], so a lot of the southern tracks is where I feel like I can shine against the big guys.”
“Our main goal is to just win Rookie of the Year, and then to win one race with the Outlaws,” Mills concluded.
On top of winning at Macon and Magnolia. Mills had three other wins with two at the Talladega Short Track and the other at Whynot Motorsports Park.
Mills might be the first to announce his commitment to the World of Outlaws, but he won’t be the last. The World of Outlaws Late Models announced on X that “we’re in for another stacked Rookie of the Year class in 2026.”
