“Terbo” Tyler Erb became the first driver to get three wins on the Summer Nationals 2025 Hell Tour with a win last night Springfield. The win has propelled him to the top of the points standings as the series begins its third week.
Ergb started the night off on the right foot with a third place qualifying lap of 12.494 seconds in Group B behind Cade Dillard and Mark Whitener. He started second in Heat 3 and was the beneficiary of Dillard suffering a flat tire late in the race to get the win.
For the 30-lap feature Terbo started second outside of Kyle Bronson, who jetted out to the lead early and led much of the early portion of the race. Following a caution for Clay Stuckey on lap 6, Terbo fell to third after Mark Whitener got a phenomenal restart on the outside and began challenging Bronson for the lead. While in third Terbo had to fend off challenges from both Daulton Wilson and Billy Moyer who took him three-wide on lap 8.
The race would come to a slow a couple laps later as Whitener, who was running in second, suffered a flat right rear. On the ensuing restart there was a four-car battle for the lead involving Bronson, Terbo, Wilson, and Dillon McCowan. On lap 13, Terbo got a huge run off the top of turn 2 and carried the momentum into turn 3 as he dove underneath Bronson and slid him through four. Bronson attempted a crossover, but Terbo held him off down the front stretch and into turns 1 and 2. After making the pass, Terbo began checking out as Bronson, Wilson, and McCowan duked it out for second.
On lap 18, the caution would wave again for Haiden Cowan, who suffered a flat right rear. Daulton Wilson, who was running third, would also take his car to the hot pit during the caution for a flat right rear. As they went to restart, Jason Feger suffered a right rear flat as well and took his car to the hot pit.
Once they finally got going, Terbo and Bronson checked out while McCowan, Ashton Winger, and Brandon Sheppard went three-wide for multiple laps for the third spot. On Lap 26, McCowan, who was in third, would suffer a flat right rear and draw the caution. During the caution, Bronson, who was tracking Terbo down, would give up his second place for a flat right rear as well. Trey Mills, who was running in 10th, also went to the hot pit during the caution.
Following the restart, Winger attempted to challenge Terbo on the bottom, but Terbo rolled the top and kept him at bay and took home the win.
In victory lane, Terbo said, “Kyle [Bronson] fired off really good. The middle/top, it took it a minute for it to kind of get clean where you could run up there because I just felt like I was going to annihilate my tires there at the beginning doing it. But I could tell it was starting to get a little bit cleaner. This end (turns 3 and 4) came to me easier than that end (turns 1 and 2) for whatever reason. That’s what sucks about leading, Kyle, he’s a really good racer and you’re kind of at the mercy of whatever’s going.”
“On the first restart Mark [Whitener] was able to get by me. I just told myself, ‘I don’t need to pick the bottom again. That’s no good.’ The next restart I picked the top, got a little bit of momentum, and from there just crossing and doing all this (he makes the sign of the cross) to make sure I didn’t have a flat. Yea, it just worked out. My guys did a really good job today,” he added.
Terbo also discussed how competing in the Hell Tour has helped him improve as a driver, “Just getting to race every night, not having four days to think about, and convince yourself you can do something different.”

Outside of Terbo’s win, the biggest storyline was all the flat tires that sidelined a number of the top competitors including Bronson, McCowan, Whitener, and Feger.
Brandon Sheppard’s qualifying struggles also continued. He qualified 14th in Group, failed to advance in Heat 4, and got into the show by winning the B-Main. He then worked his way through the field and was the beneficiary of all the flat tires as well. He was the hard charger advancing 14 spots from 17th to claim a podium finish in third. Both Feger and Whitener also rallied from their flat tires to get top 10s. Whitener finished in 8th while Feger was one spot behind him in 9th.
Carson Brown also had a good run. He advanced 12 spots from 22nd to get a top 10 finish.
