Brent Marks recently went in to a little more detail about how important Chase Briscoe’s NASCAR media connections and partnerships were in his decision to sell his High Limit Racing team to Chase Briscoe.

Marks announced that Chase Briscoe Racing had purchased his team back on August 8th. A press release stated, “Brent Marks Racing is entering a new chapter as NASCAR Cup Series driver Chase Briscoe has officially acquired the race team, including its High Limit Racing charter. While ownership of the organization will transition to Biscoe, Marks will remain the team’s full-time driver, continuing to compete on the High Limit Racing tour with no changes to the team’s racing schedule.”

He said at the time, “For me, this wasn’t an easy decision because this team means so much to me. But at this point in my career, I want to focus on being a race car driver. Owning and operating a team takes an incredible amount of time and energy, and I believe this move allows me to put all of my focus into competing for wins and championships.”

“I truly feel we’re close to competing for a championship,” he added. With the resources Chase and this ownership group can provide, I believe it gives us an even better opportunity to accomplish that goal.”

In an interview with Winged Nation, Marks discussed the resources that Briscoe brings to the team when host Erin Evernham asked, “How important and maybe comforting are those resources that Chase can bring to your team? I know that Magical Vacation Planner is something that, I think, he brought along, but you started to hit on it, that it’s nice you can kind of focus on driving, but just the relationships and partnerships? We all know of TSR (Tony Stewart Racing), KKR (Kasey Kahne Racing), and Kyle Larson, his involvement in the Sprint Car world, but now you have access to some of that, maybe NASCAR media, NASCAR partnerships.”

Marks responded, “It’s really important. These teams don’t go up and down the road without it, without the support. So with the resources that Chase is able to bring, it’s going to elevate this team to a level that I probably would have never been able to get it to personally. So I’m really excited about that.”

“It gives me the opportunity to really build this into something with Chase that’s going to last long past my driving career,” he continued. “One of our biggest goals is to have this foundation that’s so solid that it [will go] past my driver career. It’s going to continue on and be successful. That’s something Chase is going to be able to provide. And something that we’re going to build together. And that’s something that I was not going to be able to do personally. Just going to be flat out honest, I just wasn’t going to be able to do that.”

“It’s really exciting. Like I said, my last statement there, I’ve been learning a lot through all of this and it’s pretty cool to see all the opportunities are out there. I’m just the lucky guy who gets to drive this thing and be a part of it all. So I’m really excited,” he concluded.

Marks not only talked about how important Briscoe’s media and partnership connections are, but what their partnership looks like, “We only talk maybe a couple times throughout the day, but usually in the evening. Really just kind of planning the future of where we can possibly improve and what departments we can improve in. And just kind of look into the future and what to do this winter and ho we want build this team moving forward. We’ve been doing a lot of that.”

“But also kind of analyzing everything that’s been happening in the moment as well,” he continued. “He’s very good at what he does, obviously, a great race car driver. So he’s able to watch the car and kind of give some feedback on that as well. I know there’s times he hasn’t been able to watch, but just a great guy to talk to. I’ve even had some questions for him that I might be able to utilize as a driver in these cars too. Stuff that he’s learned throughout his career. He’s a good person to lean on. Overall, just a great person to talk to.”

Marks and the Chase Briscoe Racing team are back in action tonight for the opening night of the Skagit Nationals at Skagit Speedway. The team has been solid throughout the west coast trip with his worst finish being a 22nd at Placerville. He finished 5th to open it at Santa Maria and followed that up with a 7th at the Tulare Thunderbowl. He then had his worst finish at the aforementioned Placerville Speedway. At Silver Dollar Speedway for the Gold Cup Race of Champions he finished 10th, 15th, and then 2nd. He got another 2nd at the Douglas Country Dirt Track.

The performance saw him advance to fifth in the High Limit Racing points standings passing Justin Peck. he has an 8 point advantage over Peck. Additionally, he is now just 160 points behind leader Rico Abreu. He is only 6 points behind fourth place Tyler Courtney. Giovanni Scelzi, who is in third, is only 77 points ahead of him.
