Kenny Schrader Unloads On Carson Hocevar For His Post-Race Interview At Darlington

Kenny Schrader did not hold back on what he thinks needs to happen to Carson Hocevar after his post-race interview at Darlington.

During the NASCAR Cup race on Sunday, Hocevar got into the rear of Brad Keselowski as the two were battling for 17th and 18th position toward the end of stage 1. Hocevar drifted up the track and made contact with Keselowski’s left rear quarter panel. The contact got Brad squirrely and he bounced off the wall. Hocevar then appeared to hit him again to finish him off. After the second hit, Keselowski spun down the track.

Keselowski would end up finishing 23rd while Hocevar brought it home 11th. Following the race, Keselowski spoke to Above The Yellow Line about the spin saying, “He ran into me.”

When asked if there was any history or why Hocevar ran into him, Keselowski responded, “There will be. Oh yeah. His day’s coming and it’s coming hard. Watch out, Carson!”

As for his perspective on Keselowski’s spin, Hocevar told USA Network, “He spun. I don’t know what happened. He spun.”

“I do everything for TV and entertainment purposes based off everybody else,” Hocevar added. “So I don’t know. Whatever makes us good TV. I just do it for the clicks.”

He reiterated that while speaking to Steven Taranto, “I don’t know. It looked like he spun.” When asked how, he said, “I don’t know. He spun.” When he was informed of Keselowski’s comments he said, “I’ll tighten my belts.”

When asked about Brad’s comments by Above the Yellow Line, Hocevar shared a similar response, “I’ll tighten my belts.” Then when asked if he intentionally spun Keselowski, he said, “No.”

Schrader reacted to Hocevar’s post-race comments during the most recent episode of Herm & Schrader. He said, “Hey, let me bring up something ’cause I just can’t hold back no longer. … I’m a Carson Hocevar fan. I would want him driving for me. After his interview the other day, he needs to be crashed half a dozen times and then have the [crap] beat out of him at Shoney’s because that was a stupid interview. Stupid interview.”

When asked about why Shoney’s, he explained, “I was watching one of Dale Sr.’s.-. Freddie Query met someone at Shoney’s. But he needs to have the [crap] beat out of him. That was a stupid ass interview. Stupid. ‘I don’t know what happened. He spun.’ Well, he wouldn’t have if you wouldn’t have run into him.”

Later in the segment, Schrader said, “Hocevar needs to get his act together. He’s probably going to be around for a long time. He’s probably going to win a lot of races, but there’s going to be some DNFs in his future. It’s just the way it works. It always does. You get paid back.”

When asked what he thought about Hocevar’s “Tighten my belts” comments, Schrader said, “We just got to see what’s going to happen. And the only thing that’s going to happen is if he starts getting paid back. If he doesn’t get paid back, then there’s no consequences, then why quit doing it?”
