Luke Morey shared an update on what his plans are for 2026 while he attended the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) show in Indianapolis this past weekend.
Morey’s name was recently mentioned as a replacement for Tanner English at Coltman Farms Racing after English and Coltman Farms split ways due to English choosing not to relocate to Georgia and remain in Illinois.
Justin Fiedler aka Dirtrackr shared on that Morey was circling the ride. He said, “One possible name that I’ve heard that could be a candidate for the open seat at Coltman is Luke Morey. Morey had sponsorship from Coltman Farms this year and picked up a win at Tyler County during their Country Roads weekend in August.”
Additionally, Morey, who is sponsored by Coltman Farms, shared on Facebook that he was helping both teams (English and Donald McIntosh) at the Gateway Dirt Nationals. He wrote, “I was lucky enough to help Donald McIntosh, Tanner English, and everyone at Coltman Farms Racing this weekend. Both cars had real speed and nearly raced their way in Friday. The amount I learned in just a few days is unreal.”
It’s unclear if Morey will land at Coltman Farms Racing, but he did inform Kyle McFadden at DirtonDirt.com that he was still searching for a ride and his plans were up in the air.
“I don’t know what we’re doing next year,” Morey said. “We’re still kind of searching, but I mean we don’t have a truck or trailer or really anything, so we’re still searching. Every ride that’s been open, I’ve reached out trying to put my name out there that I’m looking, so, I don’t know, we’re just still kind of waiting. We still got some time. If nothing comes up, we’ll probably just do Hunt the Front again and kind of some regional stuff.”
Morey finished 9th overall with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series this past year and was second in the Rookie of the Year standings behind Oakley Johns. He had 1 top 10 in 13 feature appearances. Morey did have a big win this year at Tyler County in a prelim for the Country Roads 100. He went on to finish 7th in the main event.
