Elkins Speedway announced it has rescheduled the rained out Red Frederik Memorial that was supposed to take place this Friday, May 22nd as part of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series.

The Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series and track officials canceled the event alongside races at Tyler County Speedway and West Virginia Motor Speedway this weekend due to inclement weather. The series stated in a press release, “The decision was made jointly by the series and all three track promoters with the safety of race teams, fans, and staff as the top priority, along with the goal of avoiding unnecessary travel expenses and complications for teams facing unfavorable weather across the region.”

Specifically, it noted that they would not be rescheduled as part of the  Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series schedule, but “all three tracks are working on alternate plans to potentially reschedule their events at a later date.”

Elkins has done just that. In a post to Facebook, the track announced the race has been rescheduled to June 19, 2026. The post states, “Our rescheduled date for the Red Frederick Memorial will now be Friday June 19, 2026 at Elkins Speedway! The stars of the Super Late Model world will battle in an UNSANCTIONED 52-lap throwdown paying $5,200.00 to win! Drivers will be digging for every inch and laying it all on the line for the money, the prestige, and the honor of adding their name to the Red Frederick Memorial history books.”

“This will be a true old-school style showdown under the lights at Elkins Speedway as we honor a man who meant so much to racing in our area,” the track continued. “Support class information, complete payouts, schedule details, and more are currently being finalized and will be released soon.”
