The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series announced that it will run the Cowboy Classic feature on Friday night following the completion of The Tribute to Don and Billie Gibson.
The series shared to social media, “𝗗𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹, the remainder of the 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 #𝗖𝗼𝘄𝗯𝗼𝘆𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰 at Lucas Oil Speedway will take place after tomorrow’s running of 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗼 𝗗𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗻!
The series was able to get in everything except the feature. Brandon Overton had a very strong start to his night. He set fast time overall in Group A with a time of 15.306. He went on to win his heat race in a spirited 3-car battle between him, Gordy Gundaker, and Ricky Thornton Jr. Gundaker was able to pull by him on the back stretch for a number of laps, but Overton was able to hold him off on the outside coming out of turn four and beat him to the line.

Veteran Tony Jackson Jr. took home the second heat win that saw Cory Lawler nip Brandon Sheppard for second at the line. Josh Rice absolutely dominated heat three with Aaron Marrant and Trevor Gundaker also advancing.
Heat four was a battle of heavy weights as Bobby Pierce was not only able to track down Jonathan Davenport, but was able to get past him on the last lap to get the heat win. Chris Ferguson would also advance out of that heat to the feature.

Garrett Alberson took home the fifth heat race. Max Blair and Brian Shirley also advanced out of it. Finally, Hudson O’Neal won heat six. Chase Junghans and Clay Stuckey also advanced. Stuckey came from the last row to advance and was in a good battle with Dillon McCowan for the transfer spot for a couple of laps in the middle of the heat.
In B-Main 1, Kyle Bronson and Daniel Hilsabeck would advance. Carson Ferguson and Dan Ebert would advance out of B-Main 2 after they survived a chaotic and crazy wreck that collected around eight cars in total. It was actually two wrecks that happened simultaneously.
First, Neil Baggett drove into the rear of Devin Moran that caused him to spin up the track. At the same time Steve Stultz lost the handle on his car and he too spun up the track. Stultz collected R.C. Whitwell, Ryan Johnson, and Kayden Clatt. Reggie Jackson would come in give Stultz a shot as well as he spun in an attempt to avoid him. While they were piling into Stultz, Brian Rickman smashed into Baggett and Shannon Parker launched off his hood.
Baggett took the blame speaking to FloRacing’s Ben Shelton as he was about to get towed away, “I just went in there a little too hard, misjudged it. I didn’t know they was-. I didn’t expect them to go in there and park on the bottom. They did and that’s just racing. I guess that’s my fault. I just come in too hot.”

After the wreck, rain started coming down, but they were able to finish the race. However, it continued to come down and they were unable to get the feature in leading to the postponement to Friday night.
