The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series announced it is postponing racing action at Duck River Raceway Park scheduled for Sunday, May 24th.
The series shared in a press release, “Heavy overnight rain with an increased chance of more wet weather on the way today has forced Duck River Raceway Park officials to postpone tonight’s $10,053 to win Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Coltman Farms Racing and fueled by Sunoco show.”
It did indicate that it plans to reschedule the race, but a date was not announced, “A make-up date will be announced in the near future for the Wheel, Tennessee oval.”
Duck River Raceway Park also shared on its social media that racing action was canceled for tonight, “Due to the forecasted rain and worsening weather conditions, tonight’s event at Duck River Raceway Park has been canceled. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.”
The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals are expected to be back in action on Monday, May 25th at Sugar Creek Raceway in Blue Ridge, Georgia with $5,053 to-win on the line. The series will also head to North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Georgia on June 18th after the race scheduled for May 23rd was rained out.
Garrett Smith currently leads the series’ points. He has a 624 point advantage over second place Brandon Overton. Benji Hicks is in third place 632 points back. Kaede Loudy is just 4 points behind Hicks in fourth place. Jack Franklin rounds out the top five. He’s 654 points behind Smith.
