Tristin Moran, the track promoter at Muskingum County Speedway and the track’s upcoming Shale Crescent Dirt Cup that will pit the best World of Outlaws drivers against the best Lucas Oil drivers, shared new details about the event’s format and points.

In a video uploaded to the Muskingum County Speedway Facebook page, Moran shared, “Basically what’s going to happen is it’s going to be a format of hot lap, qualify, heat race, king of the hill — which will not actually set any lineups that’s just for points — and then feature.”

“So basically, each driver and each team can win points from how they qualify, how they run their heat race, a 1v1 verse all 12 drivers on each side in the king of the hill, and then their feature finish,” he continued. “So each driver can earn points all night long. We’ll have a live tally running on our scoreboard in the infield along on Flo as well.”

He then promised that they would put a graphic together to provide more information about it as well.

The first annual Shale Crescent Dirt Cup takes place at Muskingum County Speedway on June 10th. And it will pit the top 12 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers in the 2026 points standings against those from the World of Outlaws Late Models.

The 12 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series drivers have already been locked in following the Show-Me 100 as the series will not be back in action until the Mountain Moonshine Classic, which takes place on June 19th following the Shale Crescent Dirt Cup. The 12 drivers locked in are:

  1. Hudson O’Neal
  2. Brandon Sheppard
  3. Devin Moran
  4. Brandon Overton
  5. Ricky Thornton Jr.
  6. Max Blair
  7. Garrett Alberson
  8. Brian Shirley
  9. Josh Rice
  10. Kyle Bronson
  11. Clay Harris
  12. Carson Ferguson

The World of Outlaws still have three races on the schedule including tonight’s showdown at Wayne County Speedway. They then have two races at Mansfield Speedway on Friday and Saturday.

The current top 12 following last night’s race at Marion Center are:

  1. Bobby Pierce
  2. Nick Hoffman
  3. Tim McCreadie
  4. Drake Troutman
  5. Tyler Erb
  6. Ryan Gustin
  7. Daulton Wilson
  8. Ethan Dotson
  9. Dustin Sorensen
  10. Dennis Erb Jr.
  11. Trey Mills
  12. Tristan Chamberlain.

The battle for the 12th and final spot is a close one. Tristan Chamberlain has a 35 point advantage over Brent Larson and a 52 point advantage over Logan Zarin. However, it’s quite possible to make up that ground over the next three races. For example, Chamberlain had just a 9 point advantage over Larson, but a 7th place finish at Marion nearly tripled his point advantage.
