Pennsylvania regional standout Lane Snook is a late entry into the 32nd Dirt Late Model Dream, but the 18-year-old driver will be competing with Bruce Kane Racing at Eldora Speedway this weekend in his first year behind the wheel of a super late model.
A press release from Addicted2Dirt declared, “Lane will be piloting the Bruce Kane 15K car this upcoming week at Eldora Speedway for at least Wednesday’s FloRacing Night in America show, which is a part of the Dirt Late Model Dream event. While there hasn’t been a full schedule committed to this venture yet, Lane is excited for whatever races he is able to run in a proven, fast race car.”
Snook said, “First, I want to thank Bruce for the opportunity. I also wanna thank everyone who’s had a part in getting me here. It’s gonna be a learning curve for me for sure. It’ll help me meet a lot more people, and help me learn a lot more.”
While the press release indicates it will be for at least the FloRacing Night in America race, Eldora Speedway’s website does have him listed to compete in the Dream as the 86th out of 87 competitors. It has him listed as competing in the 15L Rocket powered by Clements and that his preliminary night is on Thursday.
Snook turned heads when the World of Outlaws Late Models made their trip to the mid-Atlantic and the Keystone State. At the series stop on Thursday, May 14th at Selinsgrove, Snook qualified second in Group A. He went on to win his heat race and then started third in the feature. He slipped back a few spots during the feature, but secured a top 10 with a 7th place finish.
A few days later he towed to Bedford and again impressed. He qualified eighth in Group A, finished fourth in his heat race and started 15th in the feature. He got his second top 10 in as many started by finishing 10th.
Following the 32nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway, Snook plans to continue to compete around his hometown of Port Royal at Selinsgrove and Port Royal on the 12th and 13th of June. He’ll then return to Selinsgrove on the 19th.
