Anticipated heavy rainfall and severe weather across central Missouri have forced Lake Ozark Speedway and Heartland Late Model Series officials to cancel this weekend’s “Late Model Triple Threat” double-header, originally scheduled for Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13.
With rain impacting the area throughout the week, followed by additional storms expected tonight and continuing through the day on Saturday, officials made the decision early to avoid unnecessary travel, expense, and logistics for teams and fans while ensuring the ability to deliver a premier show when conditions allow.
All tickets will be fully refunded through MyRacePass to the original purchase method.
For competitors and fans of the POWRi Heartland Late Model Tour presented by Mel Hambelton Ford Racing, attention now turns to the tour’s next scheduled event at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, Kansas. It’s another double header special as competitor gear up for the “El Captain Classic” next Friday and Saturday June 19-20th.
With this weekend’s cancellation, attention at “The Lake” now shifts to upcoming marquee events including the Cove Clash featuring the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint Series on July 10–11, and the return of the POWRi Heartland Late Model Tour on Saturday, August 1 for the Beach Brawl. Tickets can be purchased under the “Get Tickets” tab in the Schedule section of the Lake Ozark Speedway website.
For additional updates, follow along on social media and official series platforms.
POWRi and Heartland Promotions formed a unique partnership over the off season, and are looking ahead to the future of Dirt Late Model racing together. A $40,000 point fund guaranteed, paying back ten positions, is in place for drivers who compete in 80 percent of the series scheduled events. $10,000 of the fund has been set aside for the inaugural champion.
