Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series Makes Venue Change For Saturday August 1 Event

  Press Release

Officials with the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man (ALMIM) Series fueled by VP and the Coltman Farms Racing Battle of the Bluegrass (BoB) DIRTcar Series have announced a venue change for Saturday, August 1.

The co-sanctioned ALMIM and BoB Series event, originally scheduled for Rockcastle (KY) Speedway, will now move to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio and pay $5,000-to-win and $500-to-start during what will be the Sixth Annual Jackie Boggs Kid’s Night. The August 1 event at Rockcastle Speedway will still be hosted by the track on its original date, just not part of the tour.

“Jackie Boggs was an integral part of the original Iron-Man tour and we wanted to show respect to him in the annual running of the kid’s night,” stated Series Promoter Chris Tilley. This event puts the spotlight on the youth in dirt track racing, something that was very near and dear to the heart of Jackie Boggs. In addition to the on-track activity, the event features activities, giveaways and much more for the kids. Portsmouth Raceway Park was recently purchased by the Jent Family who currently owns and operates Mudlick Valley Raceway. The track wanted to host this race in honor of Jackie Boggs as it now moves back to where it originally started.

In other related news, the Jent Family has announced that the “Fall 40” event will now shift from Mudlick Valley Raceway to Portsmouth Raceway Park on October 3 paying $10,000-to-win.
