Jeremy Steele shared more details on what led to his split with Billy Hicks as well as what his plans are moving forward in 2026.

Steele announced on Thursday that that he and Hicks had split. He wrote in a post to Facebook, “We’ll be back in the Xcell Grading & Waterproofing #22 this weekend at Lavonia and Cherokee with the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series, and moving forward as well.”

“Billy Hicks Racing and I have parted ways,” he wrote. “I can’t thank Billy enough for the opportunity and the experience gained in the races we got to run together, but I’m looking forward to getting back in my regular equipment and getting back to work.”

“If any partners would like to come on board, any support would help as we try to return to a full schedule in this equipment,” he concluded.

On top of the two Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series races, Steele also shared he compete at Harris Speedway with the Southern Nationals on Tuesday, July 14th and then at Friendship Speedway with the Carolina Class on Saturday, July 18th.

Steele spoke with Stock Car Report ahead of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series at Cherokee Speedway on Saturday night about their time together and what led to the split, “It was a good experience. We got to go race a lot. And I will always be thankful for the opportunity Billy gave me to drive that stuff. I think we ran about 15 races at 10 different race tracks. So I was probably only going to get to run my super car only 15 times this year. So I mean I got a valuable year of experience out of going to race with him and I got to learn a lot.”

“And just wasn’t working out,” he added. “We wasn’t getting the results we needed. So he’s going to go a different route. And I’ll get back in my own stuff and see what we can do.”

When asked if it was primarily motivated by results, he shared, “I kinda felt we were building on a little momentum too. We had some stuff wrong we found. We ran third, fourth, fourth, sixth at Beckley. We had a bad weekend, the last weekend at Senoia, but other than that I thought we were building, but it’s his decision at the end of the day and I’m good with it. I can go back to working on my own stuff and have a good time.”

As for his 2026 plans, he’ll be racing in his family equipment that is made possible by Xcell Grading & Waterproofing owner Kris Callahan. As for where he will be shared, “Were a hit-and-miss and just go wherever we can. We don’t quite got the budget to follow full Hunt the Front. But right now still sitting decent in Carolina Clash points so I’m probably going to try and finish that out and that money will go a long way for a motor refresh, the points money for it. But between them we’ll just hit-and-miss and go to where we think we can run good.”

He also shared he would compete at Harris Speedway for the upcoming Southern Nationals race there on July 14th. It’s also possible he might be at Volunteer Speedway on Monday night, July 13th for the Southern Nationals race there.
