Jenna Mowery, Paula Schick, and Colin Rice, the trio that promotes the Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park, announced that their tenure of the track ends at the end of this season after an impasse with the Selinsgrove Fair Association.
The trio began promoting the track in 2025 and will continue through the end of the 2026 season, but their lease will not be renewed for 2027.
The trio announced in a post to the track’s website, “Today, Monday, August 3, 2026 we were made aware that the Selinsgrove Fair Association is choosing to not renew our lease for 2027 and beyond.”
“In November of 2024 when we first met with the Fair Board, we wanted to sign a 3-year contract. At the time, they decided that it would be mutually beneficial to draft a 1-year lease that could be renewed each year at the end of July by both parties. When we met recently, the board informed us that they now wanted to switch to a 3-year deal. We advised them in person that we were not comfortable with switching the lease as the current agreement was working well for us from a business standpoint,” they shared. “At that point we were told that they would discuss and get back to us with their decision. Today is when that decision was sent to us. The Fair Board is requiring a 3-year lease so they are choosing to decline our renewal. We are unsure of the Fair Association’s plans moving forward and request that all questions be directed to them and not our personal messages.”
They concluded, “The three of us would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to everyone who has supported our resurgence of Selinsgrove Speedway. We plan to give it our all for these last 3 months as we have a lot of big racing planned to end the season. We hope to see you all at the track in the coming weeks and months as we end our tenure. Your support means more to us than you will ever know! Thank you and let’s end this 80th anniversary season in an astronomical way!”
As for why the trio was no longer interested in a 3-year commitment, Mowery explained in the comments, “My mom will be 65 in 3 years and you never know how things will be by then, both health-wise and in terms of the actual world. It’s far from a money-making venture so it’s crazy to commit to 3 more years of losing your own personal money when the fair board is “for profit” so you can’t get any grant money like other tracks do. We never told them that we wouldn’t do more than 1 more year, just that we wanted to keep doing the contracts year by year so that we weren’t stuck for a long time if we needed/wanted out. We even offered to do our meetings earlier in the year so if we were planning to get out that they would have a longer time to search for someone.”
In another comment, Mowery added, “It’s not all money. We wanted three years in 2024. That would be through next year, hence one more year. We agreed to what they wanted and then they changed their mind. If something is working, why should it change now?”
The Selinsgrove Speedway has hosted some big events over the last two years. Just this year so far the track hosted the World of Outlaws Late Models in the middle of May where Tim McCreadie got the win over Drake Troutman. The track plans to have the United Late Model Series in town on September as well. It also regularly hosts weekly super late model shows. Gregg Satterlee is the current points leader with six wins in seven features.
On top of the late model action, the track has hosted a bevy of Sprint Car races. The track hosts regular 410 Sprint Car action with Chase Dietz the current points leader over Mark Smith and Ryan Taylor. It was scheduled to have a PA Speedweek date on July 5th, but was unfortunately canceled. It does have two PA Posse 410 Sprint Series dates on its schedule to close out the year on October 8th and 10th.
It is unclear what the plan for the track will be moving forward into 2027. The Selinsgrove Fair Association has not issued a statement on the matter.
