Lane Snook will reteam with Bruce Kane Racing at Lernerville Speedway for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series sanctioned Firecracker 100 following their debut at Eldora Speedway for the Dirt Late Model Dream.
A press release from Addicted2Dirt announced, “Bruce and Lane look to iron out things, as they plan to get in a few practice sessions prior to their next scheduled event. That event is another big show in the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville (June 25th-27th).”
The things they need to get ironed out are Lane getting adjusted to the Bruce Kane Racing car. Snook shared, “I had a different shock package on and just some other setup stuff on the car I’m not used to on my car at home.”
Snook turned heads when the World of Outlaws Late Models rolled into Pennsylvania back in the middle of May. He finished 7th at Selinsgrove Speedway then followed that up with a 10th place at Bedford Speedway.
Things were quite a bit different at the Dream at Eldora Speedway. On Wednesday, June 3rd for the FloRacing Night in America race, Snook qualified 39th out of 40 entries in Group A. He started Heat 3 in 13th place and was able to move up 1 spot to 12th. That put him in 17th for the second B-Main. He advanced 5 positions to finish 12th. Only the top three advanced.
Snook was back in action on Thursday for his preliminary night at the Dream. He qualified 18th out of 22 cars in Group B. He started 9th in his heat race and fell a spot to 10th. In the second B-Main he started 10th and advanced three positions to finish 7th. Only the top three advanced.
On Saturday, Snook found himself starting 13th in the first heat race. He slipped back a spot and finished 14th. Snook shared, “Was going forward at the beginning, and another car hit the slime on the track and pushed into us.” After getting back up to 12th, his weekend was ended when “a fuel line broke.”
Snook’s performance on Saturday put him 11th in the Coltman Elite Double Crown standings for Dirt Late Model Dream rookies and was able to receive $200 in winnings. He was also took the whole experience as a learning one sharing that he “learned a lot from all the good people around me, and a lot about the race track and how to drive it.”
While Snook won’t be back in Bruce Kane’s 15K car until the Firecracker 100 at Lernerville Speedway from June 25-27, he is expected to be back in action this weekend. He’s scheduled to be in a limited late model at Selinsgrove Speedway tonight, June 12th, and then at Port Royal on Saturday, June 13th. He’ll return to Selinsgrove on June 19th as well where they have both super late models and limited late models in action.
