Alex Vance does not plan to repeat what happened in January and made it very clear he has some “unfinished business” with Cleetus McFarland ahead of the Altima 600 at the Freedom Factory on October 10th.
Vance is a decorated Enduro and Crown Vic racer who also regularly competes in a Dirt Super Late Model across the Southeast. He bested Greg Biffle in the Triple B 100 at Triple B Ranch in 2024, the 10K Sabotage Enduro race, and has a number of wins in Crown Vics at Harris Speedway, HorsePower Park, Newport Speedway, and Tri-County Race Track. He also has an Altima 600 under his belt as well.
He and McFarland traded wins in the event that has grown in popularity and length since its inception in February 2025. The event is a stock Nissan Altima race at McFarland’s Bradenton, Florida track, Freedom Factory. The first event drew 76 cars and was a 60-lap race that McFarland won.
It was lengthened to 100 laps in October 2025 and attracted around 118 cars. Vance took the win dethroning McFarland while Kevin Smith finished second.

In January 2026 it drew more than 100 cars again and had 81 of them start the race. Eugene Vaughn won the event, but it was not without drama. The way Vance tells it his chances at winning were ended “because [McFarland] wrecked me.”
Vance is back to reclaim the title and he’s got a score settle. He posted to Facebook, “Cleetus McFarland and Alex Vance got a little unfinished business!
He got me this round, but I’m not done yet! ![]()
“
Despite getting wrecked and seeing his chances at the win get dashed, Vance did tell BumperJack’s Race Talk that it was the most fun he’s had in a race car. He also made it very clear McFarland has one coming.
“That’s a lot of fun. Me and Cleet like to trade paint. He wrecked me this year, but that’s alright, we had fun. I’m coming for him. He wrecked me at the Triple B too. I owe him one.”
The Altima 600 is the main event on the Saturday night card that also includes the Pro Truck Freedom 40 and the 60-lap Danger Ranger Championship Race. If you cannot make it out to Freedom Factory, it will livestream on FRDM+ (FRDMPlus.com).
While Vance has made it clear McFarland has one coming, it might not come at the Altima 600 and could come on a dirt track. Vance has been competing on dirt tracks and Dirt Late Models for over a decade with his first win coming at Volunteer Speedway in 2015. McFarland is set to make his debut in a Dirt Super Late Model in December at the Gateway Dirt Nationals. He will be competing in promoter Cody Sommer’s Race DRT car.
He had a test session at East Lincoln Speedway with Chris Ferguson and has at least one more test session planned where he hopes to run against Carson Hocevar so he can get some practice with at least one other car on the track before he arrives at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri on December 3rd.
