Keith Sheffer Jr. announced he and Grove Racing will be splitting ways moving forward.
Back in February, the All Star Circuit of Champions announced that Sheffer would be racing with the series and would pilot the Grove Racing No. 45.
Now, just about four months later, Sheffer announced that he and Grove Racing are splitting ways. He wrote in a post to Facebook, “Grove Racing and Keith Sheffer Jr. will be parting ways effective immediately.”
As for why, he explained, “This decision stems from funding concerns and differing expectations regarding the financial commitment required to continue the season. With the season not yet halfway complete, this was not the direction I anticipated.”
Sheffer added, “I’m grateful to my sponsors, supporters, family, and everyone who has and continue to back me throughout this journey. Thank you for your continued belief and support. My focus now shifts to what’s next, and I’m looking forward to the next chapter.”
Sheffer and the Grove Racing team were 8th in the All Star Circuit of Champions point standings after four races. They were 50 points behind current leaders Kalib Henry and Cale Thomas. Sheffer finished 23rd at Attica Raceway Park in the series debut. He failed to make the feature at Kokomo and finished 18th in the B-Feature. He then finished 17th at Fremont on May 12th and then got another 17th at Lawrenceburg in the co-sanctioned race with High Limit Racing. He got his best finish of the year this past weekend at Sharon Speedway with the Western PA Speedweek series, where he finished 6th. His previous best finish was in the Attica/Fremont Champion Series at Fremont at the end of April, where he finished 7th.
The Grove Racing team did compete on Sunday night at Tri City Raceway Park in Franklin, Pennsyvlania, but they had long-time pilot of the car Tim Shaffer behind the wheel. he finished sixth.
