Austin McCarl and the Offill family-owned Country Builders Racing team announced that the team will shut down at the end of the 2026 season.

McCarl joined the team in 2022 and they instantly found success with McCarl being the top points earning and sitting on the pole for the Knoxville Nationals. They went on to win three consecutive Knoxville Raceway track championships from 2023-2025. If you were going to win at Knoxville or the Midwest it was likely you were going to have beat McCarl and the Country Builders Racing team.

“It’s hard to put into words what our time with Country Builders Racing has meant to us,” said McCarl. “The Offill family has been so much more than people we race with. They are family, and we’re incredibly thankful for the years we’ve spent together, the opportunities they’ve given us, and everything we’ve been able to accomplish as a team. We’ve shared a lot of great memories, and those will always mean more than anything we could accomplish on the track.”

The team will conclude its season following the High Limit Racing season finale and doubleheader at Texas Motor Speedway this upcoming weekend October 16-17.

While the team is shutting down, McCarl has no intention of quitting racing, but he is unsure of what exactly his plans will be moving forward.

“Right now, we’re focused on finishing out this final season the right way and enjoying the time we have left together,” McCarl shared. “I’m not exactly sure what the future holds, but I’m excited to see what opportunities may come along. I’m proud of what we’ve built with Country Builders Racing, and I’ll always be grateful to Weldon and the entire Offill family for being such a big part of my career.”

While McCarl is unsure about what the future holds, a press release notes that “he welcomes conversations with established teams seeking an experienced driver for a traveling sprint car program, as well as potential partners and sponsors interested in helping build the next chapter of his racing career. With years of experience, a proven record of success at Knoxville Raceway, and valuable experience competing nationally, McCarl is eager to explore the right opportunity to continue pursuing his goals in the sport.”

McCarl has three wins this year in 410 competition. Those wins came at Davenport Speedway on May 8th with the Bumper to Bumper Auto Value IRA Outlaw Sprint Series, Knoxville Raceway on May 9th, and Lakeside Speedway on August 21st with the POWRi Honest Abe Roofing 410 Outlaw Sprints.

He had 17 starts with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series competition with 1 Top 5 and 3 Top 10s. That Top 5 finish was a 4th at Huset’s Speedway on June 17th. In 13 events in High Limit Racing competition he has a single Top 10. That was an 8th place finish at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 13th.
