Round eight of the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series presented by Showtime Properties took place on Friday night at Buckshot Speedway and it was Bo Slay who emerged victorious to collect the $5,000 first place prize money! Bo was fast right off the trailer, as he laid down the quickest lap overall during qualifying to earn the pole position for the 40-lap main event. The Milton, Florida ace then grabbed the point at the drop of the green flag in the headliner and led all but one circuit during the contest to capture his third career SAS triumph.

Sam Seawright, who rolled off from the outside of the front row, briefly took the lead from Slay in heavy lapped traffic on lap 27, but settled back into the second spot a lap later. The Fort Payne, Alabama native ultimately finished 0.824 of a second back in the runner-up position. Defending SAS Champion Billy Franklin started sixth on the grid and quickly vaulted up to the second spot before leaving the Clanton, Alabama facility with a third place podium effort. Current series point leader Tucker Anderson started and finished fourth, while Cruz Skinner crossed underneath the checkered flag in the fifth position.

Bo Slay piloted a Pioneer Motorsports #2 Longhorn Chassis powered by a Jay Dickens Racing Engine with sponsorship in part from Slay’s Mobile Home Service, Three Trade Consultants, Randy Polk Homes, Jason McCullers Properties, and Bilstein Shocks.

A total of 23 entrants were on hand at Buckshot Speedway on Friday and Dillon Tidmore started off the evening by posting the quickest lap in MRP Fantasy Racing hot laps with a time of 13.382 seconds. Bo Slay then turned up the heat on the competition during VP Racing Fuels qualifying to earn Fast Time honors with a lap of 13.486 seconds. The 40-lap feature was slowed by three caution flags – the most consequential of which came on a lap two restart when nine cars were involved in a turn-three pileup.

Next up for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series competitors will be a trip to Duck River Raceway Park on Saturday, May 16 for another $5,000 to win showdown. The pit gates will open at 2:00pm local time and the grandstands will start to allow fans into the facility at 5:00pm. The drivers meeting is set for 5:30pm with hot laps to follow shortly thereafter.

Joining the SAS Super Late Models on the huge racing card will be the 602 Late Models ($1,500 to win), Enduro ($1,200 to win), Pure Pony ($1,000 to win), Factory Stock ($1,000 to win), Open Wheel ($750 to win), Bomber ($600 to win), Front Wheel Drive ($450 to win), Dwarf ($450 to win), Economy 602 ($450 to win), and Sharp Mini Late Models.
