Bobby Pierce captured the inaugural win at Hendry County Motorsports Park with the World of Outlaws in the opening race of the Swamp Cabbage 100.
Pierce started in third and slipped back a spot to fourth early as Wilson got past him on the bottom. Wilson would make his way up to second working around Nick Hoffman after Troutman wrestled the lead from him. The three would then lineup on the bottom, but Pierce had no intention of doing that. He did what Bobby Pierce does best and went to the outside and they all left it open for him. He first worked his way around Nick Hoffman on lap 6. On lap 7 he got past Daulton Wilson. And then a lap later he took the lead from Troutman.
Pierce would then check out pulling out to a nearly six second lead. While Pierce was checking out and lapping the field, there was plenty of action happening behind him. First, Daulton Wilson and Drake Troutman had a good battle for second with Wilson eventually coming out on top. Ethan Dotson also began to work his way forward. After starting in 7th, he challenged Wilson for second about three quarters of the way through the race and would eventually wrangle it from him on lap 32.
Dotson got an opportunity to challenge Pierce for the lead when the race’s lone caution came out for Tyler Erb on lap 36. Dotson dove to the inside of Pierce through turns 1 and 2 on the restart and had a slight advantage over him coming off the turn, but Pierce powered back on the outside and was able to clear him down the back stretch. Dotson never sniffed the lead again, but was challenged by Wilson for second in the closing laps. He was able to hold him off by a nose at the line.
In victory lane, Pierce admitted he was a little nervous once the caution came out telling DirtVision’s Ashton Smyth, “I was really nervous because the track was really getting-. I feel like the bottom and the top was the same speed. The lap cars, I was just staying right there with them. I wasn’t really passing them.
“So I was pretty nervous on the restart. Dotson there on my inside,” he continued. “Luckily, I got a good exit off of 2 and from there on it was just hit my marks, hit my marks, don’t jump the cushion. It got to the point where you had to get up on it to any traction because it got a black slick lane below it. So, pretty hard track to drive, but fun track, fun event. … Just awesome to come to a new track and win it. It’s just great for us.”
The win gives Pierce his 43rd career World of Outlaws Late Model win and breaks a tie he had with Billy Moyer for fifth all time in the series history. It also marks Pierce’s first World of Outlaws win since Arrowhead Speedway back on August 23, 2025.
