At the beginning of September, Bobby Pierce announced that he is placing 100 yellow ribbons on the roof of his car to raise money to benefit childhood cancer research through Megan’s Mission Foundation.
Pierce explained how you can get yours or a loved one’s name placed on one of the yellow ribbons that will be on the roof of his car from September 15th-October 10th, “For a $50 donation, we will write your name or a loved one’s name onto 1 ribbon. And we will send you a pic of your ribbon.”
“That’s not all! If you purchase a ribbon, you’ll get 3 tickets automatically entered into the raffle to win the roof. You can also buy seperate raffle tickets,” he added.

Pierce is not the only driver supporting Megan’s Mission Foundation, Ryan Unzicker is as well. Similar to Pierce throughout the month of September he is selling ribbons to display on the roof of his car with proceeds going to the Foundation. Garrett Alberson was also planning on selling the ribbons to place on the wrap of his car. However, those plans were nixed after he got injured during the North/South 100 at Florence Speedway at the beginning of August. Nevertheless, he directed his fans to support both Pierce and Unzicker’s work.
Megan’s Mission Foundation was founded in 2022 in memory of Megan Bugg, who lost her life to cancer in 2022. She was diagnosed at the age of 13 with Stage 4 Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. She fought for seven years and two months and “endured five relapses resulting in over 150 weeks of toxic chemotherapy treatments, 200 radiation treatments, 8 surgeries, five stints in the ICU, and brutal physical and mental side effects from treatment too numerous to list.”
During this personal battle, she also began to raise awareness for childhood cancer through political action and meetings with State and Federal legislators. When that avenue hit a dead end, she began to personally raise funds to the tune of $1 million at Luries Children’s Hospital in Chicago and the Children’s Cancer Therapy Development Institute in Oregon. Along with fundraising, she continued her advocacy with public speaking and leading marches through Washington D.C.
The goal of Megan’s Mission Foundation is to end childhood cancer through advocacy and research. The organization fundraises for research that takes place at the Children’s Cancer Therapy Institute.
