After going 364 days without a victory, Bryce Massingill has now won four of the past six USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget main events.

The Troy, Ohio native added to his total on Friday night with his 22nd career series victory after charging from eighth to first in his family-owned No. 35, all of which has him at the top of the standings by a mere four points with just two races remaining on the season.

Stratton Briggs led the opening 11 laps of the feature before Massingill took over the point with a high side pass of Briggs on lap 12. From there, Massingill paced the final 14 laps to earn a 1.115 second victory in the 25-lap main event.

Behind Massingill, it was Briggs, Tyler Nelson, Matt Lux, and Ian Creager who rounded out the top five, while Kole Kirkman was sixth. Interestingly, the top six in series points all finished in the top six positions.

Landen Francis was the Velocita by Borsos Racing Fast Qualifier with a time of 13.093 seconds.

Heat races presented by Jeff Hill Trailer Sales, Stiefel’s Home & Auto, Hoosier Auto Racing Fans, and Performance Electronics were won by Tyler Nelson, Bryce Massingill, Chett Gehrke, and Ian Creager.

Performance Powder Coating Feature Hard Charger honors went to Carl Peterson with at 22nd to 14th run. Stratton Briggs picked up the Rosewood Machine & Tool Precision Move of the Race. Dylan Trost earned the Curtis Motor Sales / LynK Chassis 10th Place Finisher bonus.

Jon Watson collected the Hart’s Auto Center Hard Luck Award, while Massingill got the Wilwood Disc Brakes Tough Brake Award.
