The Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series announced that its race at Lavonia Speedway scheduled for May 30th has been canceled due to “significant rain.”

The series posted on Facebook, “Due to the significant rain we’ve already received, no clear days to properly prepare the racing surface, and an unfavorable weekend forecast, we have made the decision to cancel this weekend’s race program at Lavonia Speedway.”

“We know everyone is ready to get back to racing, but we want to provide the best and safest track conditions possible for our racers and fans, and the weather simply isn’t giving us the opportunity to do that this week,” the series continued. “We appreciate everyone’s understanding and support, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the next race. Stay tuned for updates and upcoming event information.”

The series’ next scheduled race is not until July 18th at Friendship Motor Speedway.

Ben Watkins is the current points leader. He has a commanding 204 point lead over Jeremy Steele, who is currently second. Steve Banal is in third. He’s 292 points back. Spencer Liggon sits in fourth with a 313 deficit. Closing out the top five is Christian Thomas. He’s 317 points Watkins.
