Kevin Harvick and Tim Huddleston’s CARS Tour West has merged with Mary Melo’s MDM Promotions and ASA to form a new sanctioning body that will operate under the CARS Tour banner.

This new sanctioning body will govern seven different series throughout the country:

  • The ASA STARS National Tour will become the CARS National Tour
  • The ASA Midwest Tour will be named CARS Midwest Tour
  • the CRA Pro Series will be called the CARS Pro Tour Midwest
  • A new CARS Pro Tour South
  • CARS Pro Tour Southwest
  • CARS Pro Tour Northwest
  • CARS Tour West Super Late Model

While it is using CARS branding for its name, these seven series are distinct from the CARS Tour and CARS Tour Pro Late Models that operate throughout the Mid-Atlantic primarily in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina. However, it has begun extending its footprint south racing at Cordele in Georgia and plans to race at Freedom Factory in Florida to begin 2027.

On top of the formation of these two organization merging to form a new sanctioning body, it was announced that Kevin Harvick and Huddleston have bought into Track TV to become co-owners alongside Melo. Track TV will be the exclusive live-streaming partner for the Spears CARS Tour West beginning in 2027.

“This is a big day for short-track racing,” said Melo. “I’ve had the opportunity to watch what Kevin, Tim and their team have built with the West Coast series, and we share a very similar vision for the future of our sport. Bringing these series together gives us a tremendous opportunity to create something truly special.”

Harvick also commented, “We are trying to build something bigger than any one series. We all have the same goals, and partnering with Marty allows us to make grassroots racing even stronger. Consistency is what the teams and drivers want to see. That will be a point of emphasis with our rules, procedures, purse structures and operations while continuing to build on what makes each region unique.”

“Blending Marty’s success with what we’ve accomplished on the West Coast creates a lot of excitement,” Huddleston added. “We’ve seen firsthand the power of cooperation and partnership, and having Track TV as a centralized platform for all seven series is another major piece of the puzzle.”

2027 schedules are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but the merger and ownership structure is effective immediately. The unified sanctioning body will go into effect on January 1, 2027.
