Carson Brown put the blame firmly on Parker Eatmon for causing the big wreck during the CARS Tour race at Ace Speedway on Saturday night.
Brown had worked his way up to 8th after starting in 20th and looked like he might have had something to get into the top 5 or even challenge for the lead. Unfortunately, following a competition caution and the ensuing restart on lap 32 he was caught in a giant wreck on the exit of turn 2.
The FloRacing replay showed Brown dive to the bottom entering into turn 1 to secure the preferred lane. Eatmon then gave him a shot with his bumper. That pushed Brown slightly up the track, but Eatmon continued to drive through him and drove straight over top of Brown’s left rear quarter panel. That eventually spun Brown around and created a chain reaction with Conner Jones spinning behind them. Numerous cars were damaged in the accident including Mason Bailey, Brandon Lopez, Chase Burrow, Landon Huffman, Mason Diaz, Chad McCumbee, Brandon Dean, Aiden King, and Blake Stallings.
Brown discussed the wreck following the race saying, “Ace Speedway definitely didn’t go the way we wanted it to. Started 20th and worked up to 8th or 9th and then had a restart. Was feeling really good about it. Cleared low by well over half a car length and then got absolutely drove through three times by [Parker Eatmon].”
“It’s not the first time it’s happened,” he continued. “This time it was just … so deep. Also, climbed our left rear a little bit. Just can’t really ask for much more out of the Lee Pulliam crew. I felt like we had a really good car. Just couldn’t finish it out.”
Not how we wanted this one to end. Started 20th ➡️ 8th ➡️ DNF. Thanks to the @LeePulliamPerf crew – we were slowly digging our way to the front! On to the next one… pic.twitter.com/kPnXkWFflS

Brown ended up finishing 26th with a DNF. It’s a huge blow to his Championship chances. He was fourth in the points standings heading into the race just 34 points behind Caden Kvapil. However, he’s now 9th and 57 points behind.
Eatmon addressed the situation in a post to Facebook. He wrote, “Ran 5th-8th all night and got aggressive on a late race restart which put us back to a 13th place finish.”
The CARS Tour heads to Virginia next with stops at Larry King Law’s Langley Speedway on May 30th and Dominion Raceway on June 13th.
