Chase Holland released a video reacting to the American Crate Late Model Series reinstating his win at Kennedale Speedway Park and paying him for the win.
The series revealed in a post on Monday night that Holland was disqualified after winning the race “because members of his crew entered the track and infield area with permission from track personnel, unaware that doing so violated our series rule. This rule has been in effect for nearly three years and is discussed during every drivers’ meeting. We also understand that track personnel instructed them to enter the infield. The same situation existed the night before when Chase also won, and everyone complied with the rule without incident.”
In that same post, the series also rescinded the disqualification and shared that that they had paid Holland for the win, “we had a productive conversation with Chase on Sunday, and together we reached a resolution. As of Monday around lunchtime, I sent Chase the winnings he earned and overnighted the payment to the address he provided. Finally, we have agreed to officially reinstate Chase Holland’s victory from Saturday night in full.”
On top of this, the series also shared it received death threats and “countless negative messages” following the initial disqualification.

Holland shared his reaction in an upload to his YouTube channel, “I think that’s an amazing thing. What I will say about the entire deal, and I think a lot of people are missing about the entire point, none of that genuinely matters. But what I’m going to tell you about everything here is that we’re all human in this situation, from me and my crew to the series directors to the racers in between and just everybody involved here. Every single one of us is human and honestly, I’m not pointing fingers, but we’ve all made mistakes in life.”
“What I will say is that Mr. Donnie [Shipp, the American Crate Late Model Series owner], did nothing but treat me fair the entire time we were there, and Dustin for that matter. I didn’t talk to them a whole lot, but when I did talk to them, they were more than fair to me. They were always respectful, and I had zero complaints or problems with them while competing in their events,” he continued. “And the other thing I’m going to say is I realize that rules are rules. I’m not above those rules and I don’t expect to be treated any differently than any other competitor that rolls through the gates at any racetrack across the nation. But what I will say is you’ve got to have exceptions for your rules and you’ve also got to understand when there is a miscommunication across the line in your rules. So, with that being said I appreciate them doing the right thing. What I felt was right. And what I will say is had my guys not asked for permission, I would have 110% owned this entire disqualification and stated that we messed up and it’s our fault. I would have never placed any blame on anybody else, track, series, anything in between.”
Next, Holland addressed his fans, “I’m genuinely embarrassed with some of fans right now. While in conversation with Mr. Donnie and Dustin they both informed me that some of you guys had said some really nasty things and some disrespectful stuff towards them and their family and also even made threats. And if any of you guys even know us remotely that we’re the farthest thing from that. I would never threaten anybody or be that malicious towards a situation like this. And the other thing, like I’ve said before, I’ve been in past situations and I’ve acted out of character and it’s genuinely hurt me worse further on and I’m still trying to recover from some of those deals and I don’t think I’ll ever regain respect from some of my fellow competitors and other track owners and promoters. So I’m genuinely trying to walk the line and be a better person and competitor all the way around. And this deal was just nasty.”
“So, what I’m going to ask of you guys is if any of y’all said anything disrespectful to them other than the cold hard facts of the situation, if you made threats to them, please go delete your message or get rid of that. Like the last thing I want to hear is y’all trying to delete a racing series because the last thing that I or my family are trying to do is harm racing and the racing community.”
“With that being said I want to thank the American Crate Racing Series over there in Texas area for allowing us to have somewhere to go and compete. I want to thank Mr. Donnie and Dustin for their hospitality and respectfulness in all of the situations that we faced. And then past that, I want to thank the Mitchell family for giving me the opportunity to go over there and compete like I did. We had an outstanding performance,” he concluded.
