The MARS Racing Series wrapped up their 2026 schedule over the October 9-10 weekend at Lucas Oil Speedway and the #28 team competed in both ‘Fall Nationals’ events at the pristine Wheatland, Missouri facility. With a $5,000 payday up for grabs in Friday’s weekend opener, Dennis Erb, Jr. laid down the fastest lap in his group during qualifying before running second in his heat race. After rolling off from the inside of the third row in the 30-lap feature, Dennis raced hard for a potential top five showing before winding up sixth at the unfurling of the checkered flag.

At Wheatland on Saturday evening with a $10,000 top prize on the line, Dennis matched Garrett Alberson’s track record during the qualifying session and later picked up a heat race victory. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then started from the pole position in the 50-lap headliner, led the opening circuit, and eventually netted a solid fourth place effort behind only race winner Terry Phillips, Chris Simpson, and Dallon Murty! Full results from both ‘Fall Nationals’ races in the Show-Me State can be accessed online at www.marsracingseries.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their focus to the 46th edition of the ‘Dirt Track World Championship,’ which will be held at West Virginia Motor Speedway for the first time since 2010. The action gets underway at the Mineral Wells, West Virginia oval on Saturday, October 17 with split-field, $5,000 to win feature events. The crown jewel spectacular, which is being sanctioned once again by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, will culminate with Sunday’s 100-lap headliner that boasts a hefty $100,000 winner’s check. More information on the DTWC can be found by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com or watch each lap of competition LIVE on FloRacing.
