Gordy Gundaker shared that he’s been suffering intense pain since Wednesday and that led to him missing Saturday night’s Summer Nationals race at Fairbury Speedway,
Gundaker shared in a post to Facebook, “We had every intention of being at Fairbury American Legion Speedway tonight for the Summer Nationals. Unfortunately, Wednesday I woke up in extreme pain and couldn’t even get out of bed by myself. I was having shooting pains down my back and across my shoulders and neck with just about every movement I made.”
“I went into Vital Performance Cottleville to see Dustin Bosson asap. If I ever have an issue, Doc is always the first text. Doc did some adjustments and other treatments Wednesday. I still was in a lot of pain and extremely sore that night and the next morning. Thursday and Friday, Dr Nate at Vital continued treatment to try and relieve the pain I’m in,” he explained. “We have made a lot of progress since Wednesday but I still have moments that are extremely painful and after talking with Doc, we both agreed it was best I don’t race tonight to try and make sure I get back to 100% and not risk further damage especially when we are planning to go race for the next 2 and a half weeks with the Outlaws starting next Friday.”
Gundaker continued, “As most know I’m always on the go. But since this happened Wednesday, I’ve barely been able to do much of anything which includes even being able to pick up my girls or lift hardly anything. I’m super thankful for Doc Throttle, Erika Bosson, Dr Nate and everyone at Vital Performance. They are truly the best and offer so much more than just chiropractic services.”
“I’m sorry to the Fairbury faithful as I feel like it’s always something when it’s time to race there. But I can promise we will be there for the PDC in full force! Thank you to my sponsors and everyone involved with our team. The first half of this year has been a complete whirlwind and I’m hoping starting next week we can get back into a good rhythm of the season,” he concluded.
As Gundaker noted, he plans to race with the World of Outlaws over the next two and half weeks. That Outlaw schedule looks like this:
- June 19-20: 141 Speedway in Maribel, Wisconsin
- June 22: Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota
- June 24: I-94 emr Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota
- June 26: River Cities Speedway in Grand Forks, North Dakota
- June 28: Nodak Speedway in Minot, North Dakota
- June 30: Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minnesota
- July 2-4: Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota for the Gopher 50
However, it does not appear that Gundaker will make the trek to Deer Creek as it is not listed on his schedule. Instead, it looks like he’ll take that weekend off and won’t be back in action until July 9th at 34 Raceway with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. He’ll then return to Lucas Oil Speedway on July 10th and 11th.
As he mentioned, Gundaker will then take on Fairbury Speedway on July 24th and 25th. Interestingly, there is also the FloRacing Night in America series race on Wednesday, July 22nd, but it is not on Gundaker’s calendar.
Finally, he’ll be back with the Outlaws at Cedar Lake Speedway for the USA Nationals that take place from July 30th through August 1st.
