Wayne County Speedway announced that Hudson O’Neal, Mike Marlar, and Ryan Montgomery will all challenge the World of Outlaws at the track on Thursday, May 28th for the Lonewolf 40.

The track shared in a Facebook post, “We have been notified of some additional drivers who plan on attending the World of Outlaw Late Models Lonewolf 40 on Thursday May 28!!”

It then listed, “Hudson O’Neal in the Rumley #6, Mike Marler, [and] Ryan Montgomery.”

Montgomery shared his intention in a post to Facebook on May 20th, where he also revealed he compete in his first Dirt Late Model Dream at Eldora Speedway in the beginning of June. Montgomery shared, “The JWR & RMR #12 team is set for a demanding and exciting stretch beginning next week. The team will open the stretch competing with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series over a four-day swing before turning its full attention to one of the most prestigious events in dirt late model racing. The 32nd Dirt Late Model Dream Week at Eldora Speedway.”

“For the first time, Ryan will compete in Dream Week in the JWR #12 entry as a rookie, marking a major milestone for both the driver and the RMR/JWR #12 program as it takes on one of the sport’s biggest stages,” he concluded.

Montgomery made two starts with the Outlaws at the beginning of the year during the Swamp Cabbage 100 at Hendry County Motorsports Park. He made the show both nights. He finished 21st and then 11th.

Marlar attempted to start five races with the series and has made four. He finished 23rd and 27th in the middle of February at Volusia Speedway Park on Thursday and Friday night, but failed to make the show on Saturday, February 14th finishing 8th in a Last Chance Showdown. A month later he would show his expertise at Volunteer Speedway by getting the feature win. He followed that up a night later with a 9th place finish at Smoky Mountain Speedway.

As for O’Neal, he’s made six starts out of an attempted eight with the series so far and won twice. He won at Volusia Speedway Park at the end of January and then in the middle of March at Magnolia Motor Speedway. In his other starts with the Outlaws he finished 10th at Volusia on January 24th, 11th when they returned to the track on February 12th. He missed the show on the 13th, but then got a podium finish with a third place on the 14th. His last appearance was at Smoky Mountain where he finished 10th.

When O’Neal’s been in the Rumley No. 6, he’s been exceptionally good. He started off the year at the Wild West Shootout with two wins, two second place finishes, a third place, and a 10th place. That earned him the title of the Wild West Shootout Super Late Model Champion. The team then made the trip to Volusia to compete in the DIRTcar Sunshine Nationals where they won on January 23rd and finished 10th on the 24th. He also competed with the team at Magnolia. It suffered engine issues on Friday night, but they got it replaced and took home the win on Saturday night.

The team would then compete with the Spring Nationals when it went to I-75 Raceway, Wythe Raceway, and Tazewell Speedway at the beginning of April. They finished 2nd, 1st, and 4th respectively. The team has been on hiatus since then.
