Bill Rose Racing announced that the team’s driver Kasey Jedrezejek will take time off from the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in order to recover and heal from the recent wrecks he’s been involved in.

The team announced to social media, “Our primary driver, Kasey Jedrzejek, will be taking some time to focus on healing and recovery following his recent accident(s). Kasey’s health and well-being are our top priority, and we want to ensure he returns when he’s fully healthy and ready to compete at 100%.”

“For this weekend’s event, we’ll have a talented local driver behind the wheel while Kasey continues his recovery,” the team continued. “Following the weekend our team will regroup and evaluate our plans moving forward. We appreciate everyone’s continued support of Kasey and Bill Rose Racing, and we look forward to seeing Kasey back in the car when he has fully recovered.”

Jedrzejek added on Facebook, “Bill Rose Racing and I have agreed as a team that, after the past couple of weeks, it would be best for me to take some time off to allow my body to heal and recover after taking some hard hits. We appreciate everyone’s support over the last couple weeks and I can’t wait to get back after it. Good luck to Bill and the team.”

In a follow-up post, the team announced that Scotty Neitzel would compete in the car this weekend in place of Jedrzejek.

Jedrzejek was injured at the end of June after a crash at Huset’s during the High Bank Nationals with Chris Martin just over halfway in the 40-lap feature.

The wreck brought out the red flag and the World of Outlaws reported that the wreck sent Jedrzejek flipping through the air.

Shortly after the wreck, the Outlaws reported that “Jedrzejek is awake and alert as the safety team helps him from the car. Martin is okay.”

He was transported to a local hospital that night with his team reporting he was “in better spirits” but would be “kept overnight for observation.” On Sunday morning, June 21st, the team shared the had been discharged.

However, after a follow-up doctor’s visit, it was discovered that he broke his arm in the crash. Jedrzejek shared in a post to Facebook, “Well I guess I was a little more beat up after my wreck at Huset’s then I thought. After having a lot [of] pain in my arm by the end of the weekend I decided to get it checked out Monday morning. Unfortunately the X-rays came back and it was fractured.”

“I’m currently in a full arm cast right now but go back next Wednesday and as long as everything is looking better I will either be put in a short cast or just a brace,” he added. “Hopefully everything works out and I can be back at the track next Thursday at Hartford Speedway.”

The Outlaws would get the next weekend off for the fourth of July, but Jedrzejek was back in the car on Thursday, July 9th for the series’ race at Hartford Speedway. During that race Jedrzejek was involved in another violent wreck with Darin Naida that, again, sent his car flipping.

Jedrzejek’s team reported he was ok after the wreck.

As for Neitzel, he has 1 win, 2 Top 5s, and 9 Top 10s in 11 features so far this year. His lone win came at Plymouth Dirt Track on May 16th. He previously competed at Wilmost in May as well and finished 10th with the IRA Sprints. He currently sits 5th in the IRA Sprints points standings.
