Kenny Wallace shared that he believes Nick Hoffman will win the World 100 at Eldora Speedway this upcoming Saturday night on September 12th.

Wallace explained why in his Coffee with Kenny segment that he shared to X. He said, “Who is going to win the World 100? I’m going to say my friend Nick Hoffman.”

As for why he pointed to Hoffman’s race-winning pass on Ricky Thornton Jr. in the Group B feature during the Baltes Classic on Sunday night at Eldora Speedway, “Did you see that pass on Ricky Thornton he made? He passed Ricky Thornton then he slid a lap car.”

“I think Nick has figured out that if you’re going to win more of these late model races you gotta get a little crazy like Bobby Pierce. Nick’s a smooth, fast, winning race car driver. But these damn late models, man, they throw sliders, they go hard. And I think Nick is upping his game. But you got to be careful doing that in the World 100. It’s 100 laps,” he concluded.

During the Baltes Classic, Hoffman stalked Ricky Thornton Jr. for nearly the entire race and even showed his nose a couple of times as they worked through lap traffic. With 2 laps to go Hoffman struck as Thornton pushed over the cushion on the exit of turn 2 and stymied his momentum. Hoffman drove underneath him down the back stretch and then slid both Thornton and Brody Smith through 3 and 4. He then took the white flag and slid Matt Cooper through 3 and 4 to solidify his lead and bring home the checkers down the front stretch.

In victory lane, Hoffman was brimming with confidence and swagger. He said, “It was awesome! I haven’t won since the Flo race at Eldora here. It’s been a struggle. We run second and third. And I see everybody on Facebook saying all I can do is run second so it’s pretty damn nice to get one. That lit the fire a little bit for me. I could pace him pretty well there and lap traffic was playing a big factor. I was just waiting for him to mess up maybe one time and he finally did. I just could tell from the get go he was way too tight on entry and couldn’t get turned in quite as good as he needed to be. So that’s where I was making all my ground, was he’d get away from me and I’d just charge harder than he did on entry and just float up and catch that curb.”

“It was a very fun race, dicing through lap traffic, making sure you throw big sliders, and get clear of them guys to try and get back to the grip,” he continued. “Just worked out for me there. His car was good just, you know, he was a little too stuck I felt like. Had mine probably too loose really, but it helped with a little bit of character in the race track, I could get through that stuff and move around.”

He later added, “The biggest thing is just get that monkey off our back and finally get back to victory lane. I said it earlier on Twitter, you got to come to these deals, I feel like, at least your guys like Ricky probably got their program figured out for that 100-lap race, and Bobby and JD and stuff, but for me, I still need laps and figure out what my car needs. Tonight definitely helps that of kind of every condition.”

“It’s going to be a whole lot different next week, I know that. It’s just that our car’s been good enough, but just got to get my job done,” he concluded.

Hoffman’s best finish in the World 100 was last year where he finished 3rd. His other finishes include 27th in 2024, 13th in 2023, 12th and 28th in 2021, and 20th in 2016. He has an average finish of 17.17 when making the race.

Hoffman finished 3rd at the Dream this year as well. That matched his best finish in that race, which he previously achieved in 2025.

He has had a career year with the World of Outlaws Late Models this year. He has the second most wins with 6, the most poles with 8, the most heat race wins with 25, the most Top 5s with 36, the second most Top 10s with 42, and the second most laps led with 308.

His six wins came at Volusia Speedway Park (2), Hendry County Motorsports Park, East Alabama Motor Speedway, Mississippi Thunder Speedway, Mansfield Speedway. Outside of the Outlaws, he had three more wins at Volusia and twice at Eldora, the first ahead of the Dirt Late Model Dream as part of the FloRacing Night in America Series and the second this past Sunday during the Baltes Classic.
