Kyle Brown Breaks Through At Hamilton County Speedway

Sometimes it seems like certain guys just need a break. Kyle Brown finally caught one Saturday night—and made the most of it.

Starting from the pole after the night’s redraw, the Madrid, Iowa driver led all 22 laps of the USRA Kevko Racing Products Northern Lights Modified Series presented by Real Wheels feature at Hamilton County Speedway, collecting his first series victory of the season in convincing fashion.

Brown wasted little time establishing himself at the front of the 18-car field, but the race was anything but easy. As the feature approached the halfway point, defending series champion Joe Chisholm and Harley Dais closed the gap, with the pair keeping relentless pressure on the leader while searching for an opening.

That opportunity appeared to come with just five laps remaining.

Charging into turns three and four, Dais dove to the bottom in an attempt to slide underneath Brown for the lead. The slider came up short, however, and contact between the two cars sent Dais spinning, bringing out the caution while Brown maintained control of the race.

Given one final restart, Brown left little doubt.

He quickly opened a comfortable advantage while the battle behind him intensified. Chisholm successfully defended the runner-up position as Alex Williamson, Zach Brom, and Parker Hale raced nose-to-tail in a spirited fight for positions two through five over the closing laps.

Brown crossed the finish line first to secure the victory over Chisholm, Williamson, Brom, and Hale.

The runner-up finish allowed Chisholm to extend his championship advantage to 113 points with just a handful of events remaining on the 2026 schedule.

Up next for NLMS drivers is a Sunday matinee at the Mason City Motor Speedway tonight (July 12) before a rare mid week stop at Winneshiek Raceway in Decorah, IA on Tuesday, July 14.
