Billy Moyer Sr. has made the feature both nights in the Wild West Shootout so far, but has pulled it in early on both nights finishing 23rd and 21st respectively.
While he’s made the feature both nights it hasn’t necessarily been easy. On the opening night, he qualified 14th in group 2. That had him starting 7th in Heat 4 and that’s where he finished, sending him to a B-Main. In the B-Main, he started 6th and was able to move up two spots to finish in fourth and advance to the feature, where he finished 23rd after parking it early.
On Sunday night, he qualified a little bit better, 9th in group 2. That gave him a fifth place starting spot in Heat 3 and that’s where he finished, just one spot out of a transfer. That sent him to a B-Main again, where he started first and finished second behind Brandon Sheppard. He then finished the feature in 21st after pulling it in early.
Lance Racing shared exactly why he’s pulled the car in early both nights and it seemingly has nothing to do with anything mechanical.
The team posted on Facebook, “2 nights in the books. Shaking down this new car on a fast track has been tough but Billy Moyer managed to put it in the show both nights through the Bmain. Pulling in after some laps to save equipment on this long haul he placed 21st and 23rd respectively. We will continue on at the Wild West Shootout.”
The Wild West Shootout is back in action tonight. Hot laps are expected to begin at 3:30 pm MT for the third night of six in the miniseries. You can catch all the action on FloRacing.
