Smoky Mountain Speedway announced that the top six Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series crew chiefs and drivers will participate in the Mountain Moonshine Crown Vic Challenge on Friday, June 19th and Saturday, June 20th.

In a post to Facebook, the track explained that on Friday night, the crew chiefs will race and the drivers will crew. Then on Saturday, the drivers will be back in the driver seat while the crew chiefs are on the wrenches again.

The starting positions for the Saturday night race will be based on how their crew chiefs finish on Friday night.

The six drivers and crew chiefs competing will be Jason Durham and Hudson O’Neal, Danny White and Brandon Sheppard, Chuck Kimble and Devin Moran, Ryder Cantillo and Brandon Overton, Anthony Burroughs and Ricky Thornton Jr., and finally Rob Blair and Max Blair.

The two six-car races are sponsored by Stakt Products, Slicker Graphics, Wells Motorsports, Mega Plumbing of the Carolinas, Cornett Racing Engines, Mark 4, and track owner Roger Sellers.

The track added, “Track Owner, Roger Sellers had a vision to get the Lucas Oil Crew guys some seat time, and along with these sponsors and a few guys that helped find the cars and get them put together.. we FINALLY made it a reality!! Hope you will join us for an exciting weekend ahead!!”

The two races take place alongside the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series’ trip to Smoky Mountain Speedway for the Mountain Moonshine Classic. Friday night will see the drivers race 40 laps for $10,000 to-win. Alongside the Crown Vics, they will be joined by Sportsman Late Models, and Front Wheel Drives.

On Saturday night, there will be another complete show this time with $30,000 to-win on the line. The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Models will be joined again by the Sportsman Late Models and the Crown Vics, but will also have Street Stocks on hand as well. Additionally, both nights will host Kids’ Juice Box races.

Brandon Overton is the defending champion of the race. He won it back in 2024 when he pocketed a cool $50,000 holding off a dogged Ricky Thornton Jr.
