Columbus, Mississippi driver Neil Baggett took the blame for a massive wreck during the second B-Main of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series’ Cowboy Classic at Lucas Oil Speedway.

Following a restart with 9 laps left in the 10 lap B-Main, two wrecks happened simultaneously at once in the same corner. Neil Baggett, who was battling for fifth with Steve Stultz, sent into turn 3 and slammed into the rear of Devin Moran and spun around. At the same time Stultz got sideways and he began to spin up the track. Chaos and mayhem ensued. The cars behind them began taking evasive action, but it was too little too late for a number of them. R.C. Whitwell, Ryan Johnson, and Kayden Clatt all slammed into Stultz’s spinning car.

While they were piling into Stultz, Brian Rickman smashed into Baggett and Shannon Parker launched off his hood like he was Nicolas Cage in Gone in 60 Seconds. Reggie Jackson would then come in give and Stultz another hard shot.

Here’s another look at the wreck from Zach Hubbert of Hubbert Media:

Speaking to FloRacing’s Ben Shelton as he was about to get towed away, Baggett said, “I just went in there a little too hard, misjudged it. I didn’t know they was-. I didn’t expect them to go in there and park on the bottom. They did and that’s just racing. I guess that’s my fault. I just come in too hot.”

After the wreck, rain started coming down, but they were able to finish the race. However, it continued to come down and they were unable to get the feature in leading to the postponement to Friday night.

The series shared in a press release, “Rain began falling at the conclusion of the second B-Main on Thursday night, forcing officials to postpone the 13th Annual Cowboy Classic A-Main until Friday night at Lucas Oil Speedway.”

The Cowboy Classic feature will take place following the conclusion of the entire Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson program. That program ends with a Super Stock A-Main. To accommodate the Cowboy Classic, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will start the Tribute to Don & Billie Gibson program 30 minutes early. Hot laps will begin at 6:00 PM local time.

The feature lineup will see Brandon Overton and Tony Jackson Jr. on the front row. Here’s the full line-up for the 45-lap race:
