Nick Hoffman and Spire Motorsports announced at Eldora Speedway ahead of the World 100 that Hoffman will operate a full-time dirt late model for the team in 2027 and will chase after a national championship.

Hoffman and the Spire Motorsports team are undecided on which tour they will run, Hoffman shared during the press conference, “Well, that’s still up in the air. And [Jeff Dickerson] has put it in my hands. I’m not going to put any pressure on him. He’s basically put the pressure on me of like, ‘Whatever you want to do.'”

“Right now, we’re sitting at 50/50. There’s benefits to both series,” he continued. “I told Steve Francis this the other day: I took every single race track that we went to this year and I rated them with stars. And which races were five stars all the way down to one-star races ’cause we went to some of those. I’m tired of spending my days at bad race tracks. There is quite a few. Both series you’re going to get that, but I just want to spend quality night at races tracks at places I know I run good at and stuff like that too.”

“So, still got to make that decision myself,” he said. “Whether it’s sponsors, whoever has, involvement in that. NOS Energy Drink is going back with me. So I’m excited to continue that partnership. I know there was a lot of questioning that. [General Manager of NOS Energy Drink] Lauren Albano has done a lot for me in our five-year endeavor here and she’s sticking with us.”

“As far as Outlaws or Lucas, it’s still up in the air,” he concluded. 

While the team announced that Hoffman and Spire will begin in 2027, Hoffman shared with StockCarReport.com that his first race with the team will be the Gateway Dirt Nationals, which takes place December 3-5, 2026 at the Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

“The Dome is where we’re starting,” he told StockCarReport.com. “Kind of makes the most sense. The World is probably the most eyes we’ll see as far as a normal Dirt Late Model event. So to do the announcement here made sense. And then the Dome has the most eyes out of any event. So do the debut of the actual car there. So we’re excited.”

After the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Hoffman and the team also plan to compete in the Wild West Shootout at Central Arizona Raceway, “Looking like we’re going to do the Wild West Shootout before we get going with whichever series we decide.”

The team plans to stick with running Longhorns. Hoffman explained, “Still 100% on board with Longhorn. They’ve been great to me. Steve Arpin, Matt Langston, Rumley, everybody that’s involved. They do a great job. And they’re right down the road from me. My shop and Longhorn are literally on the same road. You leave my shop, you turn left, you go five miles, Longhorn’s on the right. It makes the most sense.”

“I’d be stupid to change my program right now,” he added. “We’re running really well. … Nothing’s going to change as far as my motor program, my engines, none of that stuff.”

While his program is not changing on mechanical and technical front, Hoffman went on to discuss the benefits that partnership with Spire brings, “Opportunity for more things. As far as the future, you don’t know where it could lead.”

“I’m set on being a Dirt Late Model driver first and foremost, but if I could run-. He’s got a Silver Crown car. I may race that sometime, like anything. It just opens more doors.”

“Also, as far as my family goes and giving them a future. My kids are racing. My wife’s running the T-shirt trailer, which will be part of Spire Motorsports too. Just a lot of things involving my future career and the future of my family. Just like signing with another a job, just has more things that goes along with it.”
