With weather models showing heavy rain at Albany-Saratoga Speedway Saturday evening and continuing through the weekend, Super DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar Northeast, and track officials have canceled the Malta Massive Weekend finale.
Saturday’s event will not be made up, as Series and track officials could not find a viable date to reschedule.
The Super DIRTcar Series will continue its high-octane show with the season’s crown jewel, the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 at Super DIRT Week 54 presented by StubHub, Oct. 5-10. Alex Yankowski leads the Series standings by 98 points over four-time and defending race-winner Mat Williamson.
They’ll have to contend with a stout field of Super DIRTcar Series stars and the best Big Block drivers in the Northeast, including former event winners Stewart Friesen, Matt Sheppard, Larry Wight, and Billy Dunn.
