The Rocket1 team confirmed that they will be at Wayne County and also shared that they’ll head to Mansfield on Thursday and Friday as they chase the $57,000 to-win Blaster 57 Special. The team shared in a post to social media, “After a strong weekend at the Show-Me 100, including a hard-fought 2nd place finish in Sunday’s $75,000-to-win finale, our Valvoline Rocket1 team and Brandon Sheppard turn their attention to the World of Outlaws Late Model Series this weekend.”

As the Outlaws noted, Sheppard is the king of Wayne County when they race there. He won the last three events at the track in 2019, 2018, and 2017. He best Ricky Weiss and Darrell Lanigan back in 2019. In 2018, Mike Marlar and Chub Frank finished 2nd and 3rd. In 2017 it was Devin Moran and Chris Madden who finished second and third.
Other winners at the track with the Outlaws include Dave Hess Jr. back in 2013. Darrell Lanigan won in 2012 and Chub Frank won in 2006.
The Lonewolf 40 at Wayne County is a 40-lap feature that pays $12,000 to-win. Friday night of the Blaster 57 Special at Mansfield Speedway will be 40 laps as well and will also pay $12,000 to the winner. Finally, the Saturday show at Mansfield will be 75 laps and pay $57,000 to the winner.
Sheppard won’t be the only Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regular competing at Wayne County and Mansfield. Hudson O’Neal will be as well. He’ll race with Kevin Rumley in the No. 6 at Wayne County and then his SSI team at Mansfield. O’Neal will join the outlaws at Marion Center on Wednesday as well in the Rumley No. 6. Max Blair will also be at Marion Center on Wednesday. Wayne County is not on his schedule, but he also plans to compete at Mansfield on both Friday and Saturday. Devin Moran plans to run all the Outlaws races this week like O’Neal. He’ll be at Marion Center, Wayne County, and Mansfield.
Garrett Alberson has Wayne County and Mansfield on his schedule as well. Brian Shirley has both nights at Mansfield on his schedule. The Outlaws also indicated that Ricky Thornton Jr. plans to race with them this week albeit he doesn’t have any races on his schedule.
Outside of Lucas Oil regulars, the series shared that Dale McDowell also plans to compete with them this week.
