Ohsweken Speedway announced that Ryan Newman will make his World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series debut at the track for its double header on July 21st and 22nd.

The track shared in a post to social media, “One of the biggest names in motorsports is about to take on a brand-new challenge. Daytona 500 Champion Ryan Newman is set to make his World of Outlaws Sprint Car debut at the Six Nations Showdown at Ohsweken Speedway.”

The World of Outlaws also confirmed, “Rocket Man has done a lot in his racing career, and he’s ready for more. Ryan Newman will make his World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car debut next Tuesday-Wednesday at Ohsweken Speedway!”

Newman is no stranger to dirt racing. It’s where he cut his teeth before making the jump to NASCAR. He’s a member of the Quarter Midget Hall of Fame and won Rookie of the Year with the USAC Midget Series in 1995. He was the 1999 USAC National Sprint Rookie of the Year. That year he was also the first driver ever to win features in all three major USAC divisions: Sprints, Midgets, and Silver Crowns. Additionally, he won the USAC Silver Crown championship that year.

As for 410 winged Sprint Cars, he made his first start earlier this year at Owosso Speedway in Michigan. However, Owosso is a paved asphalt track and not a dirt track. Newman’s last dirt races were in Wissota late models at Hibbing Speedway in Minnesota and at ABC Raceway in Wisconsin at the beginning of July 2025. He previously competed in a midget back in 2019 at the Gateway Dirt Nationals as well. He finished 11th in the Thursday night feature, but failed to make the Saturday night main event finishing 5th in his B-Main.

It is unclear who Newman will be racing for when he makes his appearance at Ohsweken.
