Tanner Holmes announced he will return to Buch Motorsports for the 2027 High Limit Racing season.

Holmes made the announcement in a post to social media. He wrote, “I am excited to announce that I will be returning to the Buch Motorsports #13 for the 2027 season on the High Limit Racing Tour!”

“Tom Buch, Sean Strausbaugh, and the rest of the crew have been incredible supporters, and I am very thankful to have them in my corner,” he continued. “Looking ahead into year two, I am excited to build on what we started this season and continuing to improve both as a team and myself as a driver.”

“A huge thank you to everyone on our team, our partners, and all the people behind the scenes who believe in what we are doing and help make this possible. I am very grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to what’s ahead in 2027!”

Holmes recently spoke about the importance of having a team owner like Tom Buch and Buch Motorsports on the most recent episode of DIRTVision’s Pit Bull. First, he shared how he wanted to own his own team like Brian Brown, but discovered just how hard it is.

He shared, “For awhile, I won’t lie, like I wouldn’t have told you I’d end up with a team like Buch Motorsports in the sense of being a hired driver ’cause I wanted to kind of go more the Brian Brown route of trying to build my own program. Well, you start doing that you realize it’s way hard. It’s super tough.”

“Being with the team it’s allowed me to get to my next level and not have to worry about some of that other stuff,” he added. “That’s been a big difference with me this year. Obviously, like having a full-time team and having a Crew Chief and like Danny [Dietrich] said, I just worry about getting tear offs on and I have two helmets ready so I’m extra ready. It’s a gamechanger. You just show up and you don’t feel like you have the weight of the world on your shoulders.”

Holmes has had a breakout year with Buch Motorsports. The Oregon native, who currently sits 8th in the High Limit points standings, has won twice and racked up 15 Top 5s and 28 Top 10s in 50 features. He has an average finish of 10.78. His wins came at Shelby County Speedway in June and at Kokomo Speedway at the end of September.

He and the team have really hit their stride in the latter half of the season. Since August, he has only finished outside of the Top 10 three times. His average finish is 7.48 and he’s been in the mix for wins at some of the premier races such as the 4-Crown Nationals at Eldora Speedway, where he finished 3rd and 5th. He also finished 2nd in the Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway.

Outside of High Limit competition, Holmes had a respectable 11th place finish in his first ever Knoxville Nationals after transferring into the race with a 4th place finish in the B-Main. He started 24th and drove up 13 spots to earn the Hard Charger for the night.

He had a similar finish in the Kings Royal with the World of Outlaws at Eldora Speedway. He finished 10th.

One can only imagine that if he and the team not only maintains, but improves on their performance from the latter half of this year that they will be a championship threat next year.
