Terbo Tyler Erb put all the blame on Max Blair after the two were involved in a lap 1 one wreck during the second heat race at Eldora Speedway on Friday night for the Dirt Track World Championship with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
On the start, Max Blair attempted to dive to the bottom of the track, but Tyler Erb was there and the two banged doors as they went down the front stretch. It appeared for a split second that cooler heads would prevail right before they got into turn 1, but Terbo had other ideas and got into the side of Blair sending him around and into the outside wall. Terbo would not escape unscathed and would get collected in the wreck as well with Blair’s car coming to a stop on top of Erb’s. Also collected in the wreck was Michael Leach.

Speaking with DirtonDirt.com’s Kevin Kovac following the race, Terbo said, “You don’t start on the outside pole of a heat race at Eldora and turn dead left before we get to the flag stand, and continue to turn dead left all the way down the straightaway. I mean, like, what do you do? If you ask all the drivers here, “If you’re on the outside pole, what do you do when you get into one if you need to be in the cushion?’ They’d all say, “You enter in the cushion every time.'”
“There’s one guy that didn’t enter in the cushion,” Terbo added. “Once again, it’s the first corner getting into turn one at Eldora, and if you lift, you’re a pussy. I’m not even mad that he’s dumb. I’m just mad that he’s such a pussy, he’s got an $80,000 race car and won’t drive wide-open into the first corner. Enter on the fence and see what happens. How this guy even got on the outside pole is amazing to me. So he qualified not in the bottom, so at what did he decide he wanted to be in the bottom at the flag stand getting into one of this heat race? it just blows my mind.”
Finally, he concluded, “The highlight of my life isn’t wrecking Max Blair in this heat race. The highlight of his year now is that he got wrecked by me.”
The wreck has ended Terbo’s Dirt Track World Championship. He will not be competing tonight, but will instead be watching as a spectator from the stands. “I’m going to be sitting up there tomorrow and watching. Then we’ll go to Whynot next week.”
He’ll also be selling merch and signing autographs at the Race Ranch trailer as he indicated on Facebook.
