After an awesome opening weekend at Legit Speedway Park a few weeks back, the POWRi Mel Hambelton Racing Heartland Late Model Tour fires back up. This weekend attention shifts to the Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, MO. Friday will pay $3,000 to win. Saturday is slated for $5,000 headed to the event winner.
“We certainly are happy to be racing at Lake Ozark Speedway,” said Series Co-Owner Trenton Berry. “POWRi stepped up big for us over the off-season and we are thrilled to be racing with them at one of their great race tracks this weekend. It is shaping up to be an awesome time!”
Terry Phillips and Scott Crigler are currently sitting first and second in points, but are not expected to be in attendance. However the next two in the standings, Sawyer Crigler and Kayden Clatt, both talented young up and comers are expected to join in the fun. In addition there will be a host of other talented regional competitors.
POWRi and Heartland Promotions formed a unique partnership over the off season, and are looking ahead to the future of Dirt Late Model racing together. It all gets started this weekend with the first of many events scheduled in partnership.
A $40,000 point fund guaranteed, paying back ten positions, is in place for drivers who compete in 80 percent of the series scheduled events. $10,000 of the fund has been set aside for the inaugural champion.
