With thunderstorms bringing heavy rainfall Friday morning to Knoxville Raceway, continued showers in the afternoon hindering track drying efforts, and weather models showing more storms likely in the evening, World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series and Knoxville officials have agreed to postpone Friday’s FVP Hard Knox Night of the Knoxville Nationals to Saturday, Aug. 15.

The postponement sets up a doubleheader on Championship Saturday for the 65th NOS Energy Drink Knoxville Nationals presented by Casey’s. Race//Ready Hot Laps for FVP Hard Knox Night will begin at 11:00am CT. The pit gate will open at 8:00am with the grandstands opening at 9:30am. Race teams will unload into the infield. A break will follow the morning program to allow the track crew time to prepare the surface and officials to sweep the grandstands and pit area for Saturday night’s $200,000-to-win Championship program. Due to the revised schedule, the Saturday morning Worship Service and Public Drivers Meeting on the fairgrounds have been canceled.
