Tulsa Shootout champion and regular Chili Bowl Nationals contender Jonathan Beason announced he is looking for a ride for the Gateway Dirt Nationals after being invited to the prestigious race that takes place in December at The Dome at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.

Beason shared in a post to Facebook, “Long shot here! But I got an invite to the Gateway Dirt Nationals for the Super Late Model division. If there are any teams that would like to participate please let me know. I only have a few days to accept the invite, Lmk.”

Beason is no stranger to the Gateway Dirt Nationals. He competed in the event back in 2021 when the event included midgets alongside the late models. He swept the weekend winning all three midget features that included two preliminaries on Thursday and Friday and the main event on Saturday night.

While Beason is primarily known for his open wheel racing and his strong performances in the Tulsa Shootout and Chili Bowl Nationals, he has late model experience. He competed with the USRA Super Late Model Series back in 2006. He started 7 races and attained 3 Top 5s and 6 Top 10s and finished 4th in the series standings.

Beason is coming off a strong performance at the Tulsa Shootout where he claimed a Golden Driller in the Outlaw Non-Wing division. Most recently he competed in the BC39 preliminary last night with the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He finished 15th.

The Gateway Dirt Nationals take place between December 3-5, 2026 this year. The huge field is split in two with the first half competing on Thursday, December 3rd and the second half competing on Friday, December 4th. Each of the preliminary nights will feature a full program that includes qualifying, heat races, B-Mains, and a feature. The top three finishers from Thursday and Friday lock themselves into the Saturday main event. The rest of the field is set via three Non-Qualifier races with the top two finishers from each advancing to the back of one of six Qualifier races. The top two from each Qualifier race advance to the feature. Promoter Cody Sommer also has the option to provide provisionals.

Previous winners in the Super Late Model portion of the event include Bobby Pierce, Brandon Sheppard, Tyler Erb, Tyler Carpenter, and Scott Bloomquist. Bloomquist won the inaugural race. Both Tyler Carpenter and Brandon Sheppard have won it twice. Bobby Pierce has the most wins with 3.
