Wayne County Speedway announced that it suspended Kyle Moore for the rest of the 2026 season following an on-track incident with Brandon Morrow that occurred on Saturday, August 29th.

The track announced in a post to Facebook, “Wayne County Speedway officials have completed a review of the on-track incident involving Kyle Moore and Brandon Morrow during the racing program on Saturday, August 29, 2026.”

“Following that review, Wayne County Speedway has suspended Kyle Moore from competition for the remainder of the 2026 racing season. The suspension applies to all divisions and classes of competition at Wayne County Speedway,” the track declared. “Moore will also be placed on probation for the entirety of the 2027 racing season.”

Additionally, the track shared that it was in the wrong to allow Moore to continue competing on Saturday after the incident, “We also recognize that Moore was permitted to continue competing in Saturday night’s racing program following the incident. After reviewing the circumstances and information available to us, we believe that was the wrong decision. We take responsibility for that decision. We will learn from it and use this situation to improve how similar incidents are handled moving forward.”

Moore competed in both his Modified and Super Late Model on Saturday. In a recap of the night posted on Sunday to Facebook, he shared, “Picked up 3 wins, 2 in the Mod and 1 in the Late Model.”

He added, “Got caught up in another man’s mess on lap 1 of the second Late Model feature, knocked the radiator back into the fan and blew the cap off. Came in, got it fixed and went back out. Made our way back up and had a hell of a battle going for 2nd before getting cleaned out.”

“Changed some stuff on the Late Model and this thing is wicked fast right now. Really happy with the speed we’ve got in it,” he continued. “We’ll get it fixed back up and get back after it👊🏼”

Additionally, he shared that there was an altercation in the pits, but he had nothing to do with it, “Also, just to clear the air, whatever altercation happened in the pits had nothing to do with me, anyone on my crew or anyone that comes to the track with us.”

Following the suspension by Wayne County Speedway, Moore issued an apology. He wrote on Facebook, “I want to apologize to our fans, partners, family, friends, and everyone who supports us for what happened at Wayne County Speedway.”

“I know I’m better than that and I should’ve handled things differently. I’ll own my part, learn from it and do better moving forward,” he continued. “Thank you to everyone who continues to stand behind us. We’ll get a game plan together and let everyone know our plans for this weekend soon. 🏁”

At least part of the plan for the weekend will be heading to Attica Raceway Park for the American Late Model Iron-Man Series’ 2nd Annual Stephen Wagner Memorial & Attica Ambush that pays $15,049 to-win.

As for what happened on the track, neither Moore nor Wayne County Speedway provided any details in their posts. However, Brandon Morrow shared his version on Sunday afternoon in a post to Facebook.

He wrote, “Started 8th with the full field invert. Moved to 5th and got through a first lap wreck. Passed my way to 2nd by lap 3 and stayed there until I was eliminated under caution on lap 15.”

“From laps 6-15 I defended and crossed back over slider attempts from the 1*. Not sure how many . . . 7-10 or so,” he elaborated. “On lap 15 coming out of turn 2 we made contact as I was driving back past inside of a parked slider. It was light contact that damaged nothing on my car. The 1* spun out, drawing the caution. While under yellow he circled behind me and drove up under the LR of the car destroying all the LR suspension, disconnecting the battery, and spinning me around.”

“He then circled back through the infield at an high rate of speed and TBoned the RF, wrecking that suspension, wheel, and tire as well. He then immediately raced back to his pit as fast as possible,” Morrow stated.

On top of detailing the on-track incident, Morrow shared that a police report was filed after his mother, Lisa Morrow, was attacked and thrown to the ground from behind as a consequence of what happened on the track. He shared, “This incident is what fueled the attack on my Mom as the grandstands were emptying into the pits. Because all of that happened under caution, a police report was also filed detailing that incident from start to finish.” Morrow shared that as a result of the attack, his mother “sustained a bad cut on the back of her head requiring 5 stitches, and is being monitored for a concussion,” but a CT came back clean.”

Morrow also shared his disappointment with the track in allowing Moore to return to competition in his Modified after the incident, “I am extremely disappointed that this guy was able to return to the race track to run a feature in a different division after using his car as a weapon on ours, putting spectators in the pits at risk racing back there as fast as possible, and flying through an infield where multiple people have been seriously injured this years. There were multiple failures there.”
