The newly crowned American Sprint Car Series Champion Sam Hafertepe Jr. announced he is joining the newly formed Jess Jordan Motorsports team for 2027. After nearly a decade with Hill’s Racing, he will shift his focus from 360 Sprint Car racing to 410 Sprint Car racing.

Hafertepe’s time with Hill’s Racing produced five ASCS championships and over 80 feature victories propelling him to second on the series’ all-time wins list with 95 behind Gary Wright, who has 128. This year alone, Hafertepe had 7 wins, 19 Top 5s, and 21 Top 10s. His wins included two at Belleville High Banks during The Big One weekend, Dodge City Raceway Park, Big Sky Speedway, Gallatin Speedway, Electric City Speedway, and the season finale at Creek County Speedway, where he performed a last lap pass.

Hafertepe shared in a post to social media that he “and the Texas-based Jess Jordan Motorsports team have already begun preparations for an ambitious 2027 season as he shifts his focus from 360 to 410 Sprint Car Racing.”

He does not plan on following either High Limit Racing or the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for their entire schedule, but will instead have a pick-and-choose schedule that will include races with both series as they use 2027 “as a building year toward the long-term goal of competing on a national tour.”

Hafertepe will be joined at Jess Jordan Motorsports by his head mechanic from this past season, 17-year-old Brody Brown.

“I’m really looking forward to having Brody back with me for the upcoming season. There aren’t a lot of teenagers out there with his determination and drive,” Hafertepe said. “In addition to Brody, we are looking to hire two additional crew members as we begin the journey to build Jess Jordan Motorsports into one of the top Sprint Car teams in the country.”

He went on to thank Miles Hill for the opportunity at Hill’s Racing, “It was an honor and a privilege to drive for Miles Hill and Hill’s Racing. Miles was an exceptional car owner who never put any extra pressure on me, was very patient even in difficult years, and always gave me the equipment to succeed. There aren’t a lot of owners out there like Miles and I’ll forever be grateful for the opportunity he and the Hill family gave me.”
