Carson Hocevar explained why he parked his car after he spun out Andrew Scheid while the two were in a tight battle racing for third with around 40 laps left in the Money In The Bank 150 at Berlin Raceway.
With 44 laps to go in the 150-lap UARA Super Late Model feature, Hocevar dove to the bottom of Scheid, appeared to bottom out on the apron, and then drifted into the left rear quarter panel of Schneid sending him around.

Hocevar had attempted the move about 10 laps earlier with 55 to go, but Scheid held him off and continued to maintain the second position at the time. The battle really held up Hocevar and allowed eventual race winner Ty Majeski to close on both of them. With 51 to go, Hocevar went up the track, and Majeski easily slipped underneath him. The two would battle side-by-side for about the next three laps. Majeski would make it 2-for-1 when Scheid decided to go up the track and opened the bottom for him with 48 to go. Majeski would complete the pass with 46 to go.
Hocevar was unable to fill the gap and Scheid moved up a lane on the track to take away Hocevar’s preferred line. Hocevar seemingly ran out of patience and gave the bumper to Scheid with 44 to go spinning him around.
After the caution, Hocevar paced behind the pace car until the pit road was opened. He then hit pit lane and parked his car. It was reported by ShortTrackScene that he was penalized for spinning out Scheid and was supposed to start at the rear on the restart.
Hocevar explained why he parked his in a post to Facebook, “Was upfront for most of it. Spun a guy out after they kept blocking a bit. Everyone in the field was having RF tires start coming apart. Brand new car, figured we’d keep it in one piece and be able to work on it and get it a little quicker for the 250 later in the year.”
“Led most of the race. The rain delay didn’t help our car speed though. Thanks to everyone that came out. Berlin is never easy,” he concluded.
Additionally, he commented on spinning out Scheid as well writing on X, “fun racing! i was on receiving end last year after i probably crowded him some before the bump, good crowd and good times. keep my nose in there after few times getting pinched, sometime it works out or it don’t. I found out the hard way my first time. Got dumped into turn 3.”

In the Battle at Berlin in August 2025, Hocevar was in a tough battle with Bubba Pollard, who also seemingly lost his patience with Hocevar and turned left into his door that sent Hocevar spinning into the outside wall. However, Hocevar was able to save it and had his rear end just kissed the wall. He would end up finishing in 16th place.
In another post Hocevar stated, “Ty Majeski’s car came alive, I had to to even try and keep up. win some you lose some 😂.”

As for Scheid, Short Track Scene reported that he confronted Hocevar after the race and the two exchanged words. On social media, he bluntly stated, “Got “Hocevared” tonight running 3rd…”
