Craig Mintz expressed his displeasure with Tanner Thorson following a huge wreck at Fremont Speedway during the High Limit Racing series race there on Monday night.

On the opening lap of the race, it appeared as if Thorson had an issue with battling Darin Naida and drifted up the track to where Mintz was. The two made contact and they both went barrel rolling and flipping through the corner. Mintz eventually ended up stopping on his lid while Thorson rolled over to his side.

Following the wreck, Mintz told FloRacing’s Tony LaPorta, “You race with these guys, they race like — I can’t say the word on TV — but that’s just how they race. It’s pathetic. They’ll just go pull another car down ’cause they’ve got 10 of them. Us locals don’t have that option.”

“I’m going to guess tomorrow is probably done for us,” he continued. “You just race as hard as you can and they just wipe people out. It is what it is. We just put another car together and try to go there. Ultra Shield I’ve got to thank them. They just put me through a pretty good ride and I’m able to walk away and go see my family.”

Mintz had a solid night going for him. He qualified 6th and finished second in his heat putting him in a 11th starting position. Unfortunately, the wreck ended his night and he finished 27th.

As for Thorson, he told LaPorta, “Everybody’s racing hard for one spot on the first lap. So I don’t really know what happened. Unfortunate for my guys, we’ve been working hard. Felt like our car was going to be really good, and, yeah, it sucks.

He was able to return to the race after making repairs to his car. However, he finished 25th. On Facebook, Thorson wrote, “Not the finish we wanted after getting in a wreck early. We will be racing at Attica Raceway Park tomorrow night!”

Brent Marks went on to win the race collecting his first High Limit win of the year after putting together a string of podium finishes at the beginning of June.
