Nick Hoffman shared that his hauler broke down while en route to Lincoln Speedway to compete with the FloRacing Night in America series.
Hoffman initially shared a request for help to Facebook, “Help needed. Truck is broke down. Will not go into gear. Have a F on the dash and service light on the shifter. It is a 2016 kenworth W900 with an Eaton Transmission.”
“We are currently at the Pilot Truck stop in Lincoln Illinois. I have tried basically all the mobile truck repair shops nearby with no luck getting someone to come out to help. If anyone knows someone with a computer or could help us diagnose or fix the issue please reach out,” he concluded.
Fortunately, in an update on the same post, Hoffman shared that he and his team were able to discover the issue with the hauler and they were able to make it to the racetrack, but unfortunately, the truck has not been completely fixed and it actually had to be towed into the pits from the pit gate.
Hoffman explained, “We found the issue. We were able to make it to the racetrack and to the pit gate. Had to get pulled into the pits from there. It’s not going to be a quick fix. Thanks to everyone that reached out. I really appreciate it.”
Hoffman had a solid run in the season opener for the FloRacing Night in America Series with a 6th place finish at Spoon River. His night did not start off the greatest as he qualified 13th in Group A. That put him in a 7th place starting position in a stacked Heat 1 that included Bobby Pierce, Brandon Sheppard, Shannon Babb, Ricky Thornton Jr., Ryan Unzicker, Josh Rice, Daniel Adam, Frank Heckenast Jr., and Mario Gresham. He was able to work his way from that 7th starting position to a third and advance into the feature.
He started the feature in 9th and was able to advance three positions to get the 6th place finish. It looked like he might get fifth as he found himself in a spirited battle for the position with Devin Moran with around 5 laps to go, but Moran was able to hold him off on the final lap.
