The Southern Thunder Super Dirt Series and track official at Senoia Raceway have postponed the $10,000 to-win Peach Blossom Special that was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 9th.

In a press release, the series shared, “After more than four inches of rain impacted the facility over the last 24 hours, along with additional wet weather expected throughout the weekend, officials have made the decision to postpone the event in the interest of driver safety. Officials also wanted to allow drivers and teams time to adjust their travel plans and race elsewhere this weekend.”

A new date for the event has not been set as of yet, but “series and track officials are currently evaluating potential makeup dates for the Peach Blossom Special.”

With the Peach Blossom Special postponed, next on the docket for the series is a double header next weekend with $5,000 to-win on the line for the Showdown at the Swamp on May 15th at Waycross Motor Speedway and then $7,500 to-win for the Gene Maine Memorial at Needmore Speedway on May 16th.

Wil Herrington currently leads the series points after just a lone race at Cochran Motor Speedway in April. He has a 6 point advantage over Mark Whitener. Kyle Bronson currently sits in third just 8 points behind. Ashton Winger is in 4th 10 points behind and Ben Watkins is in 5th 12 points out of the lead.
